Hi everyone,
I've been playing BS after getting it through the XBox game pass on PC. I'm about 70% of the way through, and now my controller won't work at all in Bloodstained. At first it would just not work sometimes when I started up. Not letting me through the first menu at all, so I'd just unplug it and plug it back in. Now it works for one button press when I do that and then ignores it completely.
It was working just fine. Works just fine in other games. No changes to the system that should impact this. No other controllers. I've tried unplugging other peripherals. I've been searching for solutions but all that comes up are Steam solutions.
So... Any way to fix this? As I said, controller works fine everywhere else.
Tried: - Unplugging other peripherals, including keyboard/mouse etc. - Restarting, of course. - Unplugging/plugging back in both before and after launch. - Running BS as admin. - At one point when I unplugged the controller in the main menu, I received a blue message asking that I re-insert it. Doing so did nothing. Message just sat there.
System: - Win 10 Pro - i5-7600k OC'd to 4.9ghz - Geforce 980 ti - 32 gb RAM - Standard USB XBox 360 controller. Again, works in other applications just fine.

So you're playing it on Xbox One with a 360 controller?

Apologies, I'm playing on PC, I should have written that when I mentioned the game pass. I'll amend my details a bit to include that.

I was having problem with xbox 360 controller on PC too, I got random phantom input. I thought it's a bloodstained issue as I don't see any issue with emulators. But then I see similar issues on bio 5 too. 2 different PC tested. and few weeks later it's all gone. I think it's a windows 10 issue.

It’s almost 2020, it was about time to upgrade that old 360 controller anyway. I used to have one for PC gaming since 2006 and it crapped out on me a couple of years ago. Things aren’t meant to last forever.
