Hey all. How is everyone doing? Been a solid couple of weeks since I even LOOKED at the forum. I hope you are all doing well.  So I'm on hard mode, and I'm trying to do a 100% run of the game, but I noticed in my Bestiary that there's an optional boss I didn't obtain a shard from, (whom I won't spoil) and after reading different sources learned the shard is called CHISEL BARRAGE. Is there any other way I can obtain this? I've looked on wikis and FAQs and other media sources, and they all seem to say the same thing; that there aren't any missables as far as anyone can tell. (Outside of password items obtained in the beginning) Any insight I'm unaware of?? (Also purifyweirdshard if there is already a thread for this, feel free to merge it. I used the 'Search' option but 'Missables' didn't pop up so) |

Hey Leo, good to see you stop in - and while there might have been a thread with a question like this somewhere it's not a big deal - no significant established thread for it etc.
Anyway on to the question - there's no way to get that shard outside of the boss dropping it. If you don't get it at first, you can fight him until you do. Is that what you're asking? If you haven't gotten to him yet, you need the Carpenter's Key for the door to him.

I don't think anything is irretrievable in a single playthrough short of glitches. For example, a few achievements didn't drop properly on my first go-round (Bloodless in particular I saved after beating her) and I had to revert to trigger them properly. Certain bosses can be refought, so their shards are not 100% drops.
EDIT: Wait, no, of course. You can miss two specific trophies WITHOUT glitches. Which would thus cause the plat to be missed as well. So three out of the 45 trophies can be missed.

LeoLeWolferoux , if you check the bestiary, you'll note most bosses with shards have a 100% drop rate listing. The boss you're dealing does not since it's a repeatable encounter. There should just be a bunch of question marks in the shard slot until you actually get it. I recommend going back with a setup designed for optimizing your odds for shard drops.

purifyweirdshard I beat the boss without getting the shard, then saved, because I didn't think he had one. What I'm/we're saying is, you can re-fight the boss infinitely (by just going back into the room again, no NG+ cycle necessary). |

While we're at it, maybe you, ( purifyweirdshard) and Angel-Corlux could answer some quick Q & A for me??? So since the last time I looked at the kickstarter, there's been like...literally 10 new updates, I'll try to keep this as concise and short as possible. I was wondering: 1. I play the PS4 version, and noticed that there is already DLC available, but I don't seem to have access to it. The 'IGA's BACK' DLC for example, is retailing for $9.99 on the PS4 store, and I thought it came available for me as a backer from the initial kickstarter??? (I have no qualms buying it, but just an honest thought. ) 2. I've only had 1 update on BLOODSTAINED: RITUAL OF THE NIGHT PS4 edition. Is this all that is available as of right now? 3. The only thing I've received in the mail is my physical edition of Bloodstained, along with the backer slip cover. Is everything above correct as of this date? If there are items still being shipped out and updates still being worked on, then that is totally fine, and I don't wanna make a fuss...! It's just... When you haven't seen an update in a long time, they all sorta barrage you at once hahaha. "This is happening.", then "...this isn't happening.", then "THIS is being worked on.", then "THIS is being worked on, but just for these platforms; this platform will come at X date." … it's total sensory overload ahahaha.

LeoLeWolferoux 1. If you go to your Fangamer survey you'll find your code for it under Downloads & Download Codes. 2. There's apparently an update/patch coming for PS4 (which was supposed to be out last month), but they don't know exactly when it'll get pushed out by Sony 3. At the moment they are shipping out the physical goodies for the Alchemist Treasure & Dark Grimoire tiers in batches and according to the latest update they plan to start shipping the physical goodies for the Collector's Box tiers once the AT & DG tiers have finished shipping.

The DLC code for you is in your backer survey. You'll see "Download Codes Available" when you go there, and you should also have everything else applicable for the tier you have like the PS4 theme, the retro gudie PDF, OST, etc - again depending on what you backed for. They added several things to $60 tiers just before the game came out, and that's why more than you expect might be there. 2. There's been more than 1 PS4 update to Bloodstained, but depending on when you started, you'd get a different # of them. If you're connected to the internet and it doesn't prompt you for another update, you're current. Another one is coming soon that will make some small changes to shards/weapons and make the map functions better. 3. Yeah, that's normal for now - if you're at $100-150 tier, you'll be getting your next package very soon though (some people already have), but $250+ guys aren't having their stuff shipped out yet. edit: ah I see Tav answered these already. yulan No worries...! And thank you, I *am* a super fan...! Not much to tell. I backed at thte $300 tier cause I wasn't around during the actual kickstarter campaign, and had to choose a slacker backer option. (The $500 map tier didn't seem worth it imo since the map would just be uploaded to Bing anyway) Had I been around during the campaign I would have slowly built up my pledge to probably much, MUCH higher tiers. I sorta get a rush from crowdfunding so. I am currently anticipating updates from a movie Indigogo called 'Free Fall 2'. Already donated at least $575 to that one, ehehehe. ^^;
