You may be thinking "what's so special about an unreleased Jerry Lewis movie?". Well, this isn't just any movie. This is "The Day The Clown Cried." The infamous movie is about a clown who is sent to a Nazi concentration camp and ends with him leading children to the gas chambers. Lewis has been sitting on the only copy of the movie since 1972 and there was only one known screening of it. Here's an article on the announcement. It also goes into a bit more detail about all the mystery and lore surrounding the movie. blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/jerry-lewis-the-day-the-clown-cried-added-to-the-library-of-congress-but-with-a-10-year-screening-embargo-20150806As someone who's interested in unreleased/lost media and thought the movie's preservation never happen, this seems pretty cool. But at the same time... I don't think I actually want to watch the movie. There is also a 10-year screening embargo on the movie. Any thoughts?

The idea of a film being embargoed is lame it should be made available for all.

So we'll have to wait until 10 years from now if any of us wish to see this movie?

Sounds like it. I think the intent is that Jerry Lewis doesn't want to see the reaction to it while he's still alive and provide some distance between its announcement of being made public and when the public can actually see it due to the controversial nature of the film. His feelings on the movie keep changing in each time he's asked about it.
Until those 10 years pass, here's Harry Shearer's experience with the movie from a private screening.
There's also some behind-the-scenes footage of the movie floating around, but it's not much. Still, at this point I feel that the legend behind the movie is more exciting than the reality.
