I just started to play my Switch version (yes, my nationa postal service took its time).
I noticed there's an option to enter a backer's code on my save file, and taking a look at the mails from FanGamer, the only persistent piece of information seems to be KICKBLOODSTAINED-#XXXXXX, where the X's represent a six digit, alphanumeric code.
So, I just entered the code alone (not even the #). The game accepted it, but so far nothing happened yet. Should I wait for any content to unlock or something kinda like that?

I'd forgotten to put in the # when I first entered it here as well which caused some confusion on how it should be entered.
Yes, it does put your name at the top of the backer section of the credits once you have it entered. Other than that and it showing your details when loading a game I haven't noticed it having any other effects. Might be more to come if they ever get the online play in place.
