I wish Bloodstained would have a darker art style like this new game. I find many monsters in Bloodstained silly, goofy, out of place, like those ugly dog heads, slot machine, mechanic hand etc.

Bought this game for my Switch Lite a few weeks ago and I'm blown away by it. It has some really engaging gameplay (plays just like any great Castlevania), quite a complex storyline and truly gorgeous visuals. The game is far bigger than I ever anticipated and there are loads, I mean loads of secrets. OK, the loading times can take a while and, occasionally, an error may pop up which causes unsaved progress to get lost ... but that aside, the game is right up there in my top 3 platformers of all time. There's an abundance of weapons, inventory and strange items waiting to be discovered and the combat is very satisfying and responsive. The boss battles are rather difficult but, once you master the weapons/techniques, you're in for a helluva showdown. One boss fight in particular left me totally stonkered with my heart bumping in my chest like kettledrum. The monsters are relentless and vicious ... and range from creepy and sinister to disturbingly chilling. Each and every doorway, path, room or area leaves a foreboding feeling that you can never get too complacent. I'm still playing it and still can't see the end in sight. Terrific stuff!
