Okay, so pros and cons... PROS:-More compact, less complicated -Dedicated D-pad -Longer battery life -Lighter
CONS:-No TV compatibility, either through add-on or wireless -Iffy color choices -Some games, Like Mario Odyssey, rely on motion-control elements that may not be patched to help those with the Lite. ISSUES IT RAISES:-Now the "Switch Pro/XL" rumored alongside the Switch Lite is likely coming 2020, furthering my conundrum of finding the right point to jump on the Switch train. -I know people late to the 3DS party, including myself, who may have mixed feelings about this. As long as 3DS games remain exclusives, there's still enough value from the 3DS, but if not, it's going to cause some frustrations for some. -Wait, will 3DS games come to Switch Lite? |

I'm really into the yellow one  Turquoise is nice too but not as much as yellow for me. Seriously considering getting one at launch. |

Only if the cartridge slot is redesigned relative to the basic Switch. Switch carts are a LOT smaller than 3DS ones (plus DS ones fit into anything designed to accept 3DS carts, so that level of reverse emulation may be prohibitive).
In other words, virtually certainly not (save jailbreak homebrew emulation).

Nintendo is putting out messaging that this doesn't mean the end of 3DS support, but take that how you will (I believe them myself, but many won't etc). I'm mostly in the same spot as RichterB with the Switch - I want one, but want to wait for the right model too.
