I would adore a big heavy strategy guide for Bloodstained Ritual of the Night and Curse of the Moon. I'm thinking like the Dark Souls, Bloodborne, or Sekiro guides from Future Press.
What do you all think vote and/or give your own ideas below.

I would for a $15-$20 softcover thorough guide. Hardcover would take too much shelf space.

I don't think a strategy guide in this day and age would be necessary. Now a hardcover lore book like Zelda's Hyrule Historia on the other hand, I'd buy it.

Arcueid BrunestudI put out another poll for that option as well. I would argue that strategy books were never "needed" but in games that are heavely stat based and have lots of item's to collect and craft a physical guide right there can be nice to have even if it's just to look through and compare.

Strategy guides haven't been "needed" since the dawn of GameFAQs, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't buy one. I have quite a few of them because they do something GameFAQs and similar do not--provide info in tangible format that can be flipped through.
ETA: A good strat guide has always been a little bit art book, a little bit lore book, and a little bit dev diary as well as a bunch of game secrets.

Of course i would buy one, as long as it can be digital! Unfortunately, the strategy guide i received from survey, was few page long, had only a short rundown on characters and screen menus and guess what? The castle map is only HALF, in there!
So yes, unfortunately, i would need to buy a strategy guide, after all (as long as it is correct and complete)!

purifyweirdshardYea I was definitely never expecting it to be this massive thing. But I figured they'd go over the bosses alil and some in depth tips and what not at least.

I was mainly responding to gradius there, sorry.
I guess I could see that. I only really expected what was typically in the old ones. They usually didn't have much about bosses, but covered the typical "get you started" type stuff and maybe the first area. I haven't looked at the file yet.

Yes, but... HALF the map? Not even 1x map? And only 2 cheats and 1 tip... That's a manual, really (not complaining, though, the game, any game, can certainly use one, like, always)!

Absolutely, I wouldn't want to see the whole map as I was flipping through a manual before starting the game. Even half would be too much for me ;p

Like another user said, a strategy guide in this day and age is fairly redundant (and with patches - soon obsolete). A guide would be nice for collectors and hardcore fans, but largely a waste of resources.
What I think would be a better alternative, would be a limited run Bloodstained 'archive', full of the history of the project, production and character notes, location breakdowns, concept art and anything that was scrapped/left on the cutting room floor.

silentsanctumI like this idea too. At this point if they did decide to make a guide for Bloodstained it would be fairly close to finalized whenever if eventually came out though. I still think they could go into detailed breakdowns of area's secrets maps what area's certain upgrades unlock and and maps at stats for weapons and so on.

I would definitely buy a hardcover guide for both games combined if it was up to the same quality as what Future Press can put out.
Or even better what silentsanctum said. A Third Editions style retrospective, archive style book that details everything, the how, the why and all sorts of trivia from the development process over the last four years.

As a lifelong gamer and collector (since the late 80's), I feel that the only way to truly do these two games (now three games) justice, a thorough hardback must become a reality. There is enough game to have either one larger book, or two smaller books. If these are done, they must me done well, and abounding with themed art. The best guides not only have concise information, but amazing illustrations as well. I know I would be more than happy to contribute toward a guide book project. Definitely two thumbs way up for this proposed project.
