I know there are far more pressing concerns at the moment, and glitches that affect playability and progression should be addressed first, but as a cosmetic guy, it really bothers me that we have no option to disable helmets in this game. Why put in all kinds of hair/eye customizations if it's going to be covered by some ugly bucket or mask? I can live with it, but the option to "hide" is pretty basic, and it'd go a long way.
More complex but also appreciated would be a "cosmetics" menu so you can select the look of a certain piece of gear (say, elf ears) while having something else functionally equipped for stats.

This issue isn't as big of a deal further on in the game when you get better equipment. The best helmets don't cover her face at all. You always have the option of not wearing them, the stat difference is tiny enough to not matter.

A more comprehensive solution here would be a second set of armor slots labeled "cosmetic", which would override the visuals of the default armor slots, but not the stats. And which could of course be specified as "default" (no change) or "nothing" (visually no armor).

This is what I was hoping for, but I'm realistic and understand the limits on a smaller studio's resources. I can't imagine disabling the helm graphic could pose an exceptionally burdensome challenge.
