With all the recent talk about the Switch version of Bloodstained, and the very vocal complaints, I was curious what those of you who played it thought of it. Did it have any technical issues? FPS issues? Input lag that made it hard to enjoy it? Are the complaints just a vocal minority and most people enjoyed the game just fine? I'm curious!

It really pains me to say it, after years of waiting and anticipation: So many issues it was almost unplayable.

It runs atrociously. Avoid it at all costs and go for one of the other versions. Even if the Switch is your only console, I'd suggest skipping the game in that case.

This might be interesting. This is the result of this same poll on the GameFAQs Bloodstained Switch board. The results are very hopeful for those who haven't played the Switch version yet: imgur.com/a/kaf8GUU

I am sure there are many people who think the gameplay is supposed to be so slow and they just suck at playing. I have played many hard games but RotN (Switch) seems extremely hard due to laggy and clunky combat. I cannot manage to avoid and attack enemies in the similar manner I do in all other games including all Castevanias. For me it is completely unplayable, and I am not one of those who usually complains about things.

I'm enjoying the Switch version. There are several problems with it, and yes, it does affect playability, but I haven't found myself blaming any of my deaths on the input lag or poor performance. So for me, it doesn't keep it from being fun.

I’ve played it and i can confirm that anyone claiming the game is “unplayable” are exaggerating a ton.
Yes it’s the inferior version of an otherwise incredible game, yes it should’ve come out in a better state, yes fixes should come out way, and yes I expected better but it is NOT unplayable. Not even close.
Look, nobody likes frame rate drops but I used to play 4 player Perfect Dark on N64 at a blistering 7 FPS so an ocasional drop in Bloodstained Switch to 15 FPS, whole bad, is not what I’d call unplayable.

Its an unplayable mess, The input lag alone to me makes it unplayable. Then there are the crashes and then load times as well as the dips down to 10 FPS when there are more enemies on screen.
You can complete it, but its still no fun. Its like you are playing the game underwater.
There are all the bugs, but on top of that you have visuals that look like a 3ds game. No excuse for the poor quality muddy mess.

The switch version is like playing underwater. From the Input lag being 3 times worse then any other version. Coupled with 30 FPS that dips down to 10 FPS in some areas and boss fights. To the constant crashing some get. And then the blurry visuals to really make it feel like your looking through the haze of water.

If you played before on another platform you'll feel it right away. If you didn't, as long as you don't play for that long you might feel it "playable", mostly because the game play deteriorates as you enter many rooms.

Context, i decided to back the game n switch, but i always think on also buying it on steam, cause i thought that portability was neat! but i also wanted mods and good graphics, so i always knew would end with both versions.
still, due to me being away from home the weeks it come out (carrying my switch) and then falling ill, my first playtrough was on handheld switch, (after a while i ended disabling rumble, cause THAT bug was annoyng), but i managed to do a 99% run on handheld switch.
IT is the worst version of the game, and It is more enjoyable to play on the pc. BUT to say that the switch version is an unplayable trainwreck is just an exaggeration. I still was able to beat the final boss without a single crash.
regarding stuff that was made less enjoyable...
-I think that the bosses are the most impacted by this, since it's harder to react to their patterns, and i ended wanting to just cheese them (which is still perfectly possible, so isn't game breaking, but bosses are less enjoyable) -the graphical downgrades kinda make less enjoyable some areas that are a little duller, like the caves and all its reskins (Ice, fire, etc). castle entrance, gardens, cathedral etc... while still looking worse they were still very enjoyable because the elements while worse quality, still were arranged in interesting ways. -Sole exception may be library area where the load times become an actual problem, but in the other areas it was fine. -Frame drops were usually seldom and not supper common,so werent a problem neither (but they were noticeable)

I’m slightly disappointed with the Switch version. I play in hand-held mode & it keeps slowing down, black screens when jumping between floors - mainly jumping up, slow button reactions & I even defeated the dragon by crouching underneath & striking it without taking damage.

I haven't played it on Switch, but I've heard that input lag, crashes and long loading time between rooms are the biggest issues. Inferior textures and low fps are just the reality of a game like this one being ported to the Switch. All versions except PC and the pro/1x have frame-rate issues, but the Switch actually runs at a pretty stable 30fps most of the time. I have it on ps4 and there are constant drops below the targeted 60fps.

It really does pain me to say this but .. I've got no intention of buying Bloodstained My fire has gone out. I'm on auto-pilot in a despondent kinda way! Just reading about all the bugs, issues and problems over the months leaves the impression of what it must feel like to wake up after a botched operation. I'll be hanging in the shadows...

I played it for 36 minutes and couldn't bare to play more and see such a beautiful piece of art contaminated by ass enginering and presentation. I got the bad ending on PC so I am good until everything gets fixed and fps is 60 on Switch. Music is the only thing that feels the same.
