Hey guys!!!!
I post this ones in the Kickstarter comments, but now I will post here to more people can see and say about
This suggestions is about Interaction between the main game and the prequel one and a special boss battle Iga Army of the Night. Enjoy!!
Interaction Between the Main Game and the Prequel One.
I will make a suggestion about the prequel minigame: make the prequel and the main game interacts!!!!! Some games use the prequel/demo story and you can pass something to the main game after. Dissidia 012 and the Bravely Default are good examples.
Data Transfer Systems:
We can get two ways to pass the data from the games. In systems who the save is in the same “place” (like CPU to CPU, PS4 to PS4), at the start from a new game in the main game, the game will ask from get the data from the prequel save (Square make this in Dissidia 012, to get both the Demo and the original Dissidia data).
To pass from different systems, the prequel can generate a password to put in the main game new game save (the main game will ask for a save or a password).
What will pass from prequel?
This is a devs call. Can be better starter items, crafting items, unlock doors….
My suggestion is not unlock doors, because some players without the prequel can be pissed for an unlockable door. In the same way, if the prequel unlock a new area, more monsters, more items, this one’s not count for the game completion (the map/bestiary can be over 100% with this, but never needed to get 100%).
I suggest some prizes getting in the main game from completing some “achievements” in the prequel:
- Start the prequel: A little set of potions/recover item.
- Beat the prequel: A better armor in the start inventory. Some prequel references in the main game.
- Complete the prequel map: A special room open. Yes, I said no lock doors, but without this achievement this room will never appear.
- Complete the prequel bestiary: Can generate a spawn of rare and exclusive monsters in some places in the castle.
- Get all items in the prequel: Can give a lot of possibilities: new weapons, new armors, an exclusive pet, etc.
- Another Achievement: More achievements, more alterations in the main game.
- Fully Complete the Prequel: Ah… this one! Is the best part of my suggestion.
We already get the Retro Level goal. So the main game characters already will be converted to a “retro version”. If a Fully Complete Prequel Data (FCPD) are transferred, the player will get all the bonus listed and get a New Special Retro Level: the Prequel!!!!
Let me Explain: If the FCPD is on, in some place (probably in the special room opened with the Complete Prequel Map) will get a “portal” (or another strange thing). The character will be ported to the Prequel Scenario and can pass from this like any other stage of the game (of course, this will be a Retro Stage). In this stage, the character will retake the prequel history and fight the prequel enemies and bosses. The powers of the character will probably be different from the main character in prequel, so we can get some secret rooms, making it a little different from the prequel. The history can be some “weird different” from prequel, confusing the character, but can give some insight to him/her about the past. In the end, we will fight the prequel last boss….
SPOILER ALERT (hehehehe)
This prequel level is an illusion created by one demon. After fighting the final boss, this demon will show and fight, making the end of this level different from the end of the prequel. After the demon dismissal, a new portal will open, allowing the player go back to the prequel level initial room and back to the “real world”. But the illusion will still here to allow the player go back and explore again.
SPOILER ALERT END
This level will use exactly the prequel data, with maybe some modifications. So, the prequel can be made with this idea, with items, enemies, status, weapons and others who can be getting in the prequel version in the main game.
Vantages:
- The Retro Level and the Prequel can share a lot of work.
- Some people likes play something to get more things in other game.
- Change the opinion “the prequel goal not give anything to the main game” (beside a prequel history, of course).
- A biggest castle can always became even bigger!!!
Well, is an idea… and this one can make the prequel better and the main game better and bigger
The Army of Nigh Challenge!!! (short stage or a challenge)!!!
The Character arrives in a large secret room, with only a throne! Suddenly a swarm of bats appear, go to throne and became LORD IGA!!!!! Lord Iga Starts summoning you army!
The Challenge consists in kill a number of monsters equal final number of backers! Each Kickstarter Tier became a monster: The Supporter Tier can become Bats, the Digital Copy can became skeletons, and so on. High tier, high powered monster.
After a number of kills, Lord Iga starts to make an eventual attack without go out the throne. Another number, he sudden teleport to the fight, make an attack and go back to the throne. Near to the end, he go out from the throne and start fighting, and then all the monsters are killed, he can be damaged and defeated, but starts fight hard.
Maybe, because the high number of backers is better make some rooms; the player can wipe a room and take a break (and save). This idea can be good to a secret room, but we can have a Challenge to kill then all in one seat!
(and Lord Iga cannot be truly defeat; he only say “you are worthy” or another phase and vanish, giving some good prize to player )
