Thank you, everyone, for your excitement and patience. We are thrilled at the positive reception the game has received today. Not everything has gone perfectly, and we want to keep you all updated, so here you go:
1.The game has launched on Steam, GOG, PS4 and Xbox One in most regions. Asia is coming soon with Japan following afterwards.
2.Nintendo Switch launch is still set for the 25th.
3.Backers Keys have been distributed for every platform except US PS4 (which will go out tomorrow).
4.The Day One Update (1.02) with Boss Rush/Speed Run and Iga’s Backpack DLC are live on Steam and GOG. They are NOT live yet on consoles.
5. Current Build Versions: Steam/GOG=1.02 | PS4/XB1=1.01
6. The soundtrack is available on Steam and GOG, it will arrive on PS4 with version 1.02.
7. Backers will get codes for all digital rewards delivered to their surveys after the Switch launch.
Thank you for your patience as we work to get all the platforms fully updated!

Sucks that the day one patch isn't live on ps4, which I don't understand why it isn't.

Any ETA on the console Day 1 patch? I don't want to get too far on Xbox if there's a potential for my save to get messed up or if I can't do character customization after starting a playthrough.

1.02 is up on Xbox One and PS4 now. It went out last night, not long after Question's post here, for PS4 that is.

I installed my GOG copy when I got home from work yesterday (indeed, my email notification arrived while on the drive home). It says 1.03 rather than 1.02. Just a heads-up, Question .

Hi guys
I just found that you will not be releasing a linux version. I want to change my platform to PS4. How can I do that!?
Same here – also wishing to change my platform to PS4. I only noticed after redeeming the GOG code, not seeing a Linux download option and then doing some research. As mentioned in Kickstarter update #76 I wrote an email to bloodstained@fangamer.com (on Jun 18, 2019). So far the issue has not been resolved.
Since my backer tier is only "Digital Copy", I'd like to think just giving out a different code is not too much of a hassle?
Update (Jun 24, 2019): Fangamer replied and explained the situation. Basically, they can do nothing, because they don't have any keys and will not receive any more from 505/ArtPlay. They got exactly the required amount for release, though they did ask for extra. So the only ones who can do anything in the matter are 505 Games/ArtPlay.
Update (Jul 15, 2019): From the 505 Games support and in a DM with Question I also got the response that they don't offer platform changes or refunds anymore. No explanation given. With that I think I have tried all official channels. 505 Games and ArtPlay are now on my personal blacklist – meaning I won't buy any more of their products and most certainly won't crowdfound or recommend anything associated with them.

Hoo boy are you guys late for this because they were offering platform changes but that ship sailed long ago and we've known about this from an official KS update for months now, but I got good news! There is a tried and proofed work around for running the game on Linux and I'll referr you to the thread made by browren telling you all about it. bloodstained.forums.net/thread/4080/bloodstained-runs-fine-on-linux

Thanks, if all else fails I will try using WINE, but I really hope I won't have to.
At some point – well, a few years ago – I stopped reading the Kickstarter updates, scanning the headlines at best. That's how I missed it. I now skimmed all updates after and including #76. As far as I can tell there is no mention of backers not being able to switch platforms anymore (if support for the preferred system has been dropped). Only the addresses are locked, which doesn't matter in this case.
Of course I understand if it takes a bit of time to handle such requests. Now that the release is out, the team will be swamped with work. However at some point there has to be some kind of official solution: Either allow affected backers to switch platform, or give a full refund, or maybe even put Linux/Mac back on the plan for a later date?

You just admitted you haven’t been reading updates for years so trust me when I say this: platform changes are 100% locked down, they have been for a few months and they definitely let us know before they locked them down but you missed that. And when they announced Linux and MAC was getting canceled they specifically mentioned that they’d let those request a change of platform too. I’m sorry this happened but this one’s on you. The good news is there is a workaround and apparently it works quite well.

If it was in the forum or in the Kickstarter comment section somewhere … well, can't expect backers to read everything. But even then I don't see why there should be a time limit in the first place, except for shortly before release to request the right amount of initial platform codes/keys. After release they should be open to requests again.
I shouldn't get too hung up about the phrasing, but I strongly disagree that "this one is on me". Anyways, the case isn't closed yet. For now I'll wait for a response from Fangamer. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Of course they need to lock these down. They need to order the appropriate amount of physical copies and codes from the platform holders. Not even the codes are free, you know? The developer/publisher pays Steam/PSN/Nintendo/XBLA for each code to distribute as they see fit be them for review or in this case backers and they need to request them well in advance. Remember how Inti Creates fumbled that part and had us backers waiting upwards to two weeks to send all the codes? They absolutely need to lock them down at some point. And yes I’m sorry it is on you for missing the many warnings they gave out but you’re welcome to try with fangamer. But like I said all is not lost. You can run the Pc version on windows with minimal tinkering.

They sent out emails 2 weeks before the cut off date to change platforms, reminded people 3 weeks before in update 65 on kickstarter and again reminded people the final day in update 66 and on Twitter. It wasn't just tucked away somewhere.

It wasn't just tucked away somewhere. That is not what this discussion is about. My survey was properly filled out at that point. But then later in update #76 they dropped Linux and macOS support. In the same update they also offered those affected to change their platform. And for that change was no deadline mentioned – neither in update #76 nor a later one.

As someone who backed on Switch I am still waiting. It feels like a massive let down having to wait a week longer than everybody else, especially for those of us who have been there since the beginning.
I have just been soaking in salt since about the 18th and it feels bad man.

I’m too lazy to look it up for you but they did tell us. The fact that you even missed the announcement that they were dropping the platforms tells me you would’ve missed it anyway if they were even clearer. There’s only 2 things I think they dropped the ball on on this entire campaign: 1) not offering refunds for Linux and MAC users like they did for Vita and WiiU backers and 2) announcing so late the Switch versión would only be 720p/30fps that changing platforms was no longer an option. Other than that I think they had as close to a great a gaming Kickstarter campaign as it’s humanly possible. And that includes them offering platform changes for Linux and MAC users and repeatedly letting us know about them.
