I don't know if this deserved a thread, but i wanted to share something interesting i noticed, and the shoutbox wasn't enough for it. Okay, so, at 2016 DEMO, Buer was on Galleon Minerva and it gave the first revealed Enchant Shard of the game, CON BOOST (increases Con). At 2018 SXSW presentation, it was revealed that Buer is, indeed, a familiar (so, dropping Familiar Shard). We can see a footage of Miriam using it as a familiar. At 2019 Summer announce reveal trailer, we can see, again, Miriam using Buer as a familiar BUT there is a fundamental difference: Miriam SUMMON IT to use it. Beforehand, we saw that familiars aren't summoned. When you equip one, it automatically shows up (that was seen with Dullahammer Head Familiar). ALSO, at some point of the trailer, we can see Miriam killing a Buer and we can see him shining red, as if it was going to drop a Conjur Shard. What that means? This beg some questions: 1) What happened to CON BOOST? It is going to be given to another demon or the Shard vanished? 2) If Buer is a familiar, why when a Buer was killed in the trailer, it turn red, as if it was going to drop a Conjur Shard? Maybe the game has two different types of Buer enemies? (pallete Swap). Or Buer IS NOT A FAMILIAR ANYMORE and it is, indeed, a Conjur Shard? (Miriam summoning it means that Buer is one of those "summon" shards inside Conjur Shards where you summon a demon to do something for a short time? 2. I believe it's two different ones. Like the wasp-girls (fairy familiar) and Ghost / Amy etc.
(Can't wait to see the indestructible red(?) morte goo'ing around.)

Once more, I feel obligated to provide answers to your questions, this time in Vepar Teal textTM. 1) What happened to CON BOOST? It is going to be given to another demon or the Shard vanished? I imagine it will. It may have just been a test ability to make sure Shard powers worked properly in an earlier build of the game, but I believe "CON Boost" will return as an improvable Shard ability from a different enemy.2) If Buer is a familiar, why when a Buer was killed in the trailer, it turn red, as if it was going to drop a Conjur Shard? Maybe the game has two different types of Buer enemies? (pallete Swap). Or Buer IS NOT A FAMILIAR ANYMORE and it is, indeed, a Conjur Shard? (Miriam summoning it means that Buer is one of those "summon" shards inside Conjur Shards where you summon a demon to do something for a short time? It is most likely a different enemy, considering the palette-swap. Assuming this enemy won't have a more generic name, and draws from the Ars Goetia like "Buer" does, there are at least seven other demons that have lion-heads or other lion-like features. I'm willing to bet on "Ipos" being its name. ^ Incidentally, do you remember the "Buer"-like Decarabia enemy? I'm still wondering what type of Shard that this one will drop.I do hope these answers are satisfactory!

i never noticed all this madness with buer going for all colors of shards until you pointed it out.

It is still there but it was probably given to a different kind of lesser demon or some non interesting enemy (trash monster).

im willing to bet a bag with 5000G to the next list
Red shard = obatained from buer as a summon buer shard Green shard = has to be crafted using a red summon buer shard + some other random material.
i don't think they will make a palette swap for buer, and decarabia is already in the game (and it looks freakish to the point that it makes me feel really uncomfortable)

My answers in clear azure sky blue : 1) What happened to CON BOOST? It is going to be given to another demon or the Shard vanished? What we had there may very well have been a Buer design WIP which had it drop the CON BOOST shard and subject to further changes---which apparently did happen as we saw in further updates. I seriously don't believe that CON BOOST is now forever gone, as simple stat boost abilities were a part of the soul-gathering experience in AoS and DoS and by proxy an Igavania feature naturally expected in RotN. The CON BOOST shard will definitely be given to another demon I firmly believe.
There must be at least a few enemies that look and act like they intrinsically have a CON BOOST type of personality, if that makes any sense at all. 2) If Buer is a familiar, why when a Buer was killed in the trailer, it turn red, as if it was going to drop a Conjur Shard? Maybe the game has two different types of Buer enemies? (pallete Swap). Or Buer IS NOT A FAMILIAR ANYMORE and it is, indeed, a Conjur Shard? My take on what familiars do is actively assist in battle. If there is a "helpful" Buer that won't do anything for Miriam unless it's kicked about to be sent bouncing and rolling all over the place, then that particular Buer is not a familiar based on my view. I can be proven wrong of course if said Buer, if left stationary and Miriam seemingly tries to walk off of the screen, disappears then respawns magically next to Miriam. Or if instead that Buer rolls forward a bit so that it's not cut off-screen. Familiars to me are active creatures/entities that follow the protag and always try to assist in combat with their specialized abilities whenever even an infinitesimally remote opportunity presents itself.Also agree with Arsenical on the shard theory.

Arsenical i didn't considered the possibility of Buer giving a Conjur Shard of just summoning him for a short time, to actually use said shard to create a Familiar Shard of Buer itself. That would actually be pretty creative. About CON BOOST, yes, i also think that it will be given to another enemy and it was mostly for test purposes. IGA said before that, wne they created the Soul Dominance in Aria of Sorrow, the idea to give obtainable powers for ALL enemies forced them to be REALLY creative, because some enemies simply doesn't have any interesting trait to them for you to use, so you just dump stats boosts or weird passive effects on those. Almost all of those powers were of the Enchant type, simply because it was easier, i think, to create passive effects that doesn't need animations or anything, for weird trash / useless / fodder enemies you can't figure out what to do with. I honestly believe most Enchant Shards in Bloodstained will have the same function. Enemies you don't know what to do with, but you still want to give them a Shard, just create a Enchant Shard with some stats-changing / boost / passive ability. Even considering Bloodstained doesn't have the obligation of giving Shard to all enemies, since it was stated before that some "Lesser Demons" doesn't have shards (Morte and Giant Rat are the examples we have so far).

thrashinuva in the past PAST, IGA wanted enemies to have more than one or two drops, the drops would be divided by enemy parts (head, body, arms, etc) and they wanted the "magicrystals" to be used somewhere to be unlocked and used as shards. All that was dropped to what we have now.

My understanding of game development is that things are incredibly fluid and likely to change early in development. I wouldn't be surprised if Con Boost has been given to an enemy they felt would be a better fit for. As for why summons went from being ever present to being called in might be due to the code to summon not being in the game at that point (or at least not being in a working state). This is all just my speculation, however.
