As stated in the title - Amazon.ca (the Canadian site) has the PS4 and Xbox One versions available for pre-order with a release date of March 31st. I know video games are typically released on Tuesdays but March 31st falls on a Sunday so this could well be an inaccurate date. Any thoughts on the validity of this announcement?

Most likely a placeholder, as the fiscal quarter ends on that day.
It also isn't enough time for a release marketing campaign.

It could also be copying off of ebgames.ca that's had the same date for a while now. Before that, they had a few other incorrect dates and still list other incorrect things about the game, like an exact price, only two platforms and "Inti Creates" as the sole developer. Probably doesn't mean anything.

I wasn't aware Ebgames had the same date. You're both probably correct but it would be nice if the release date was so soon. Sadly many (if not most) people still believe Inti Creates is the developer of ROTN and they are often still credited for the upcoming game on many sites.

We haven't notified any vendors or partners as to a release date. Typically we'll see sites punch in dates based on nothing, or a different site. They are all trying to get your pre-order money. No dates you see on any sales sites will be accurate.

Man, I remember back when Software, Etc. was a thing (now called GameStop). You used to be able to reserve *anything* under any name for 20 bucks and if you had a mindless rube behind the register who was just there for a buck, they wouldn't bat an eye if you mispronounced the game or whatever.
Little has changed thanks to having money in hand by any and all means necessary.

Lets learn from this already: unless the publisher says so first, always take any dates given by retailers with a tiny, microscopic, grain of tiny salt. TL;DR Amazon.ca was wrong. Anticipated retail dates are almost always wrong. |

No shop is ever accurate if there is no official date. Check Bloodstained official sites for right date. This rule goes for every product ever made - go to the source. |
