How grand is Grandia, in your opinion? A lot of well-regarded JRPGs are coming to the Switch, and I'm not entirely sure which ones I should prioritize.

@autumn I'd Give Grandia 1&2 an 7.5. If you compare those games with Octopath, Get Octopath First.
There is one thing everyone should know about Grandia 1&2. The Party is controlled by the narrative. You do not have the luxury to pick who you want to bring. Grandia 2 is much more forgivable than how it was handled with Grandia 1 (Everyone who played it knows what I'm talking about).
Both games are self-contained. No prior knowledge needed. If people want to get into Grandia, Start with 2. It's more streamlined and newcomer friendly. Grandia 1 is a grinder's wet dream come true. The sheer depth of 1's skill system is HUGE. Said depth was offset by the arbitrary party system unfortunately.
Both games do have 1 common issue. When you complete a zone, that zone could be closed to you for good so be sure you have everything there. Use GameFAQS.

All I can say is one thing: HYPE Also, agreed with what BalancedHydra said. If you're wondering what to get first, get Octopath, without a doubt.

Been following this at gamefaqs.com.
Never played the first one, but loved the second one. Will get the Switch version when possible.
