I tried to skim the forum for any notes related to this, but didn't see any, so I apologize if this is a repeat.
I found certain platforms to be frustrating to drop through while trying to move either left or right immediately after pressing down.
What would happen is that the dropping animation would begin, but the horizontal motion would "catch" the platform and re-set the player back on top of the platform. This may be more of a problem with platforms that are angled.
