I don't know if anyone suggested this yet, i searched and didn't find it, so, here goes.
The idea where the first time you use a food item gives you a permanent bonus increase is neat and really creative. This gives a whole new usage for food on Igavanias. But, after that, the food is useless because you can't use food itens anymore. In past Igavanias, food was basically healing itens. I DON'T THINK food must be healing itens again, because, due to their variety, it would make the game too easy. But i think they must still have some usage after the First Time Bonus.
So, my suggestion is that. after using it for the first time, food could be used to give a TEMPORARY BOOST / BUFF. Akin to stat potions on Symphony of the Night, that you could use to give you a temporary bonus for about a minute and half, i believe the same could happen to food on Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Here's a suggestion / example of how that could work and examples of bonuses.
The first time you use a food item, it gives you a permanent stat boost, called "First Time Bonus". After that, the food item can give you a temporary bonus for 1m30s. These bonuses doesn't stack (you can't use one after another). FTB = First Time Bonus. TEMP = Temporary Bonus.
Uni Rice Bowl: FTB = LCK+3. TEMP = LCK+6%. Steak: FTB = STR+10. TEMP =STR+20%. Pork Cutlet: FTB = STR+1. TEMP = STR+2%. Ginger Pork: FTB = STR+1. TEMP = STR+2%. Flan: FTB = INT+5. TEMP = INT+10%. Lemon Cream Pie: FTB = INT+5. TEMP = INT+10%. Lemonade: FTB = Shorten MP recovery time (3.0/sec). TEMP = Shorten MP recovery time (15% less time). Macaroni & Cheese: FTB = LCK+3. TEMP = LCK+6%.

This would be great for roguelike mode - you find food that's randomly generated for temp buffs, or even in Classic Mode since that won't have traditional "stats" but could be some power-ups.
But in general/main game wise, I tend to never use temporary buff items.

I can see food doing both a temp and permanent raise in stats. I thought it was wierd seeing it have no other action after the first time. You don't get more consumable than food!

Also, to make it not a spammable thing, maybe have where after eating a dish Miriam is 'full', until she rests at a save or 10-15min pass. Whichever comes first. That timer wouldn't necessarily be the length of the temp buffs, just for her 'fullness'.

Hmm. Keep stacking available, just move the stacking to DURATION stacking.
If you eat 2 steaks, you get the temporary bonus for 180s.

So, the first time I tried some cooking, without entering the castle, I already had 3 upgrades, so I agree that it might need some tweaking. Maybe the idea for the final game is that you can unlock ingredients instead of having them from the beginning, and we are able to do this in the beta just for showing us what will be possible.

I believe that's actually supposed to be implemented.

I believe there is a plan for food, but I'll forward this suggestion just in case.

QuestionThank you a lot for that. It doesn't need to follow exactly what i said, of course, but food must do something else besides the (great idea of) first time bonus. Food became useless after one usage, so, it would be good if they had other uses besides that.

I would suggest that the temporary buff you suggested last a fair bit longer, but also implement a "fullness" cooldown timer, as suggested earlier. Buff potions could be used for the short term, but I feel food should be more long term.
My idea: Food is no longer a consumable item and must be cooked/eaten at Johannes(except for Wall Chicken). Food gives first time buff, no change there. Eating a meal gives a temporary long term buff that lasts between 20-60 minutes. Time is up for debate as we are unsure how often we would be returning to Johannes. After eating, one can not eat again for a given time. This would also limit players from super buffing their stats early on. You could even add in an animation/sound effect of Miriams belly grumbling(the animated series Ben-To just popped into my head).
Kind of stole a bit of this mechanic from Monster Hunter World. But, what more can you do? It's food.
