I just finished the beta for the first time and wanted to give my first impressions about it. First off I just wanted to say well done. I can't tell you how many hours I have put into Symphony of the Night or how many times I have completed it and coming from that masterpiece of a game Bloodstained just felt right. I was having so much fun I didn't realize how long I had been playing until I looked at the clock. Everything felt responsive and the combat was fun.
Here's some minor stuff I noticed while playing:
The first cutscene with Dominique feels a little janky. I didn't really noticed anything too out of the ordinary with the other cutscenes, just this one.
The game is a little on the easy side. This is probably for beta purposes but I hope the full game give a better challenge.
There should be some kind of ding or something that lets you know you finished a side quest. Like a small pop up saying the quest was updated or something.
I think shards should have their drop rate decreased. They were dropping way too often. They might be this high just for beta purposes but I just wanted to point this out.

I agree, but I expect it feeling like that because it is kind of a beta "starting area" thing. There should be some kind of ding or something that lets you know you finished a side quest. Like a small pop up saying the quest was updated or something. Yup, a little window that pops up in some corner showing progress and then vanishing again would be nice - going into the menu -> archives -> quests to see if they are done is kinda annoying. I think shards should have their drop rate decreased. They were dropping way too often. They might be this high just for beta purposes but I just wanted to point this out. Not all shards drop with the same frequency, like the lionguard shard is actually a little rarer - and since they are increasing in strength the more you have it didn't feel like they drop too much (especially since you can sell them for a low amount of coins - probably because they are newbie shards).
