(Had posted this on Kickstarter, didn't know we were supposed to post here. Sorry about that!)
Played the demo and beat Zangetsu and had a lot of fun. Few things though:
1) Miriam screams way, WAY too much when doing attacks. It needs to either be toned down to basic, short and low audio grunts, only have her scream when getting a critical hit, or both. She screamed to the point that it practically took me out of the game, to be honest. Having just the weapon noise for everything outside of crits would work too.
2) The character models' mouth movements, especially for Miriam, could use some work. It looks more like a gaping hole being opened up rather than her mouth. In addition some of the cutscenes could use a bit more polish as some of the animations, like when fighting the boss on the boat, seem a bit stiff and unnatural. For example, theres one scene where Miriam moves her head upwards to look across the area at something and the way she comes to a flat stop just feels weird.
3) A vanity slot would be fantastic so we can keep the headgear/accessories we want on while having the stat bonuses of the other armor in the game. It'd be cool if the torso gear would also change appearance but it's understandable why that would be such a large task. Still, maybe some color swaps would suffice for some of them?
4) Some of the enemies could be more aggressive with their attacks. A lot of them kinda just idle around for too long before you defeat them. Perhaps on higher difficulty settings (or just in general) they can be more aggressive and maybe have new attack patterns?
Other than that, the game felt great to play and the music, character models overall, and environments looked great! Very much looking forward to the full release, I just hope the Switch version runs smoothly.
