Lanterns on the ship respawn upon reentering the room, and they drop their G too. This means it's possible to abuse them in order to get as much G as you want by just spending some time in starting zone. I believe making them not drop G on respawn or not respawn at all would be a good idea.

That's always been like that in IGAvanias and generally wasn't a very efficient farming strategy unless you had some special items to increase the gold you gained from candles/lamps. Yeah, you can theoretically farm infinite gold but it's such a ludicrous process that it's probably not considered a problem.
