i do apologize if this has already been discussed, but i haven't been on in a while, and i have seen the poll for dress sets, which kinda covers a part of my question. i remember when the forum first came out that i made a long winded post (i have forgotten my username, ill probably pull it up later), and at the end i mentioned something about alternate clothing styles. as ive seen from the poll thread there seems to be some cosmetic customization in the works, but i decided to make a thread for my question since i don't know if that's fan based cosmetics, as seen with nsfw options (which in my opinion seems unnecessary. i mean there's already gonna be r34, and i don't think it fits the character, and we all know what a lood woman looks like, why need a small 3d model of it running about in a castle? imo it doesn't really add anything, and the libido high from seeing a naked woman is common all over the internet, so why bother really? i know what girl parts are, you know what girl parts are, and her body type is common (wouldn't call it "thicc", but nubile i guess), it just detracts form the character. to me its detracting from the art all for "aha, scantily clad/naked woman, doesn't that please my mind". also i guess the major face changes, like elf versions, seem unnecessary as well, as you guys got an artstyle going on and replacing it with a common long eared 3dcgi face doesn't fit imo. although i can see from a multiplayer standpoint how customization like that can help distinguish players, it just that it looks a bit silly to me to have something like "generic elf reskin". although it doesn't bother me much, just thought id comment on it).
anyways, my question is will there be visual changes regarding armor equipment, not just cosmetics like hats/masks. it doesn't have to be for every armor in the game, although that would be cool, but maybe enough to distinguish if the armor is tanky or whatnot (maybe a different look depending on def stat thresholds?). i don't know how min max-y or how hard the multiplayer is gonna be, but having the option to see what kind of defense your allies are packing would be a good gauge on what to expect form them/what their tanking ability is. also it would be nice to have some functional looking models as well as a bit of aesthetics. i dunno about anyone else, but short skirt, nubile girl (although you guys didn't go for the open breast option and added a nice looking plate so you can still have the gem(? i don't remember what curse she exactly has) rose showing, which is nice) from Japanese media seems worn out/overdone/too safe of a character design to me (im not sure id say it doesn't fit, because im not knowledgeable on the fashion of the period, but considering the idle animation and how the hips sway/skirt poofs it does seem a bit fanservice-y, although the pose does have an air of... posh? to it. i don't know what to make of the pose, but it does make me think about it, which speaks well to the design), and having the choice to wear something else, without leaving the realm of the aesthetics and setting, would be a nice touch, at least for me. it isn't something that will make me burn the game on the stake, but just something that's been on my mind. i do apologize if my prose is too obtuse, im not good at neat/concise writing. no bulli

I like the idea of being able to dress the character (whether or not it happens to change stats) but purely as a very extra feature. In the case of scantily clad women go, I haven't seen any designs but I can't imagine Victorian gothic underwear being very sexy. I'd also point out that there are multiple characters and as a guy I have nothing against the sexualization of the male characters.

There will be alternate costumes. The poll was tangentially related to the survey, but not offical. The succubus outfit likely won't be NSFW, just provocative, because it is a Succubus, but the other two Survey winners (both getting more votes than Succubus) were Armored Valkyrie and Elegant Vampire so you'll probably find something you like.
Torso armor pieces will not change the look of the character.
This game is very fantasy focused in nature and not very realistic, so you're not likely to see full Dark Soulsian armor sets here.
If you don't like Miriam, sorry. A lot of us do. Castlevania has had plenty of strong manly men and even tough edgier women like Shanoa. I appreciate Miriam's character design a lot.

I agree with your views regarding the nsfw-outfit-stuff. Not only does it not make any sense within the game's world and Miriam's character - it would actually make it far less likely that I'd recommend this game to friends and family, seeing that I wouldn't want to be seen as the guy recommending that game with the unnecessary nsfw-fanservice in it. I'd always have to explain myself when recommending this game so I probably just wouldn't bother.

I do apologize if it came off thst i hate the design, i didn't mean it that way. I just wanted to state my opinion that the skirt felt a bit meh to me (considering the "market saturation", so to say) and that i personally didnt see the point of sexy outfits because i don't think the games fov/resolution or whatever gave any loods any justice, or that it really needs to be added, considering r34 would do a better job at it. No need to lood everything because it doesn't add anything and its just a simple " naked bodies are nice". It didn't seem to add anything worthwhile for me, like an appreciation of the human form or whatever (like those really well done greek statues. Its amazing how they replicated meaty texture by adding indents to where pressure was added to the body. I wonder how long they took to make). thanks for the information on visual armor by the way

I'd always have to explain myself when recommending this game so I probably just wouldn't bother. Thabks for agreeing. Although id like to quote the other guy, here but im new to the forum form format and i dont want to flood with another post, sorry. Why does fantasy have to equal provocative? I dont expect uber realism, but not something silly, or something that only makes me go "it looks nice because girl bodies look nice". I guess to go with the dark souls example, dark souls isnt super realistic but has nice aesthetic armor that fits with its setting. i do like the asthetic overall of mariam, and that armor plate is a cool touch, something like succubus armor because libido seems out of line. Like to go back to the comment i made about the idle pose, its has an air of posh or elegance to it, or of some refined strength, an "hmmf" look so to say, not someone I'd see running about pretending to be a succubus because people like sexual things. If anything the only thing detracting from it is the floatyness of the short skirt bringing attention to the waist, but thats a small detail, that if the devs wanted to, they could adjust by making the skirt less floaty and a little bit longer, but its not a big concern. the amount of leg showing just makes me think that she isnt taking this castle attack thing seriously ya know? Its the only part of the character that sticks out loke a sore thumb to me. It is a nitpick yes, but what aren't Victorian upper castes if not picky about dress codes and manners and what not eh? I mean theres no point in discussing it now i guess, being this far in development (or is it? I don't know how long things get to be implemented or changed). Although i always found the "just ignore it and choose something else" argument to be silly. Art with direction and intent right? And besides one could reverse it and say why not ignore ones libido and have a beautiful game that doesn't bend to carnal desires, for it knows it can stand on its own, without sexual crutches. But no hate to anyone else, women are nice to look at, except moe
