Hello people! Today we shall discuss about monster spawning, but not the usual one. It is all about parts of the game where monsters relentlessly arrive, slightly camp around and meet their doom without minding it at all. Grinding. Trudging through a corridor. Being swarmed to death. Rarely getting rare drops that are useless anyway... (cloth tunic, anyone?), low character familiar experience to be gotten, cheap ways to test massive explosion spells, etc. Zombies, mermen... MEDUSA HEADS. Oh, I do have the picture for that. Enjoy! So, what is your take on Bloodstained and infinite spawning? Myself, I was bummed when I saw these Dullahammer heads and their sinusoidal patterns in the 2017 E3 demo (I was one wishing to see Decarabias, like in the concept screenshots). That said, as long as they neither knock characters back into pits/out of platforms* or cheap petrifying, it will be fine. Your replies will be much appreciated! See you in the Discord! Take care and have fun! Lestaroth *Well, at least there are no deadly bottomless pits in an usual metroidvania/Igavania, so I will be fine about it. Heh heh.

Well, I hope that if I do get knocked into a pit by a Dullahammer head flying in a sine wave pattern, that it knocks me into a room below the room from whence I fell ^_^
I never really bothered grinding zombie rooms because their EXP output was always like 1. But I have fond memories of crouching in one spot for 20 minutes slashing medusa heads just for that hot shield drop!
The worst was getting hit by a yellow medusa head, turning to stone, only to drop into a spike pit XD

I like infinite monster spawing on Igavanias. Be it zombies, medusa heads and other things. Since some enemies in Bloodstained are equivalent / substitutes from Castlevania original ones, i expect some of them to behave the same way, like Morte (substitute for zombie) and Dullahammer Head (substitute for medusa head), so, no problem, for me.

I had to go with the speed run choice. I don't expect to speed run this game but grinding will be dependent on if I need to or if an enemy has a drop I want. Grinding against the endless mobs isn't preferable either. So yeah I'll just avoid them if necessary and hope to find a glitch in the process.

I prefer every inch of screen filled with an endless swarm of demons. Bring it on!

I really like how they handle monsters in the Gauntlet games. Enemies spawn infinitely from an enemy generator. If you want the enemies to stop coming you need to destroy the generator. Not sure how well that would work in a Castlevania game, but it is nice to be able to choose whether to keep fighting the hordes or take out the generator when you need a breather.

Enemies should respawn once you teleport to a different area via the glass portal. This would be a balanced mechanic where grinding is still possible, providing at the same time the extra incentive of fully re-exploring the local map in search of a different enemy of the same type. Such mechanic would also create a slight feeling of accomplishment for your seemingly endless war-like efforts, at least until you teleported to a different place or returned to Arvantville by foot or waystone. Not only that, it would be very adequate to the game's lore; I understand the Libre Logaeth is summing gigantic armies of demons while you play, but shouldn't they take a while to arrive in order to reoccupy the level you just cleared?
