www.dualshockers.com/record-lodoss-war-action-game/I don't know this franchise but the trailer looks cool. Though I have to say... the main character is Alucard. It's almost pixel by pixel and has the same animations. I don't know if that crosses the line between homage and downright rip off 😂

Well regardless, I'm a Lodoss fan and I freaked out a bit when crocodile tagged me on this in Discord. A character moving like Alucard is what I've seen so many people around say that's what they want, and obviously Konami isn't going to do it so lol. What would be even crazier/awesomer would be like characters from Rune Soldier showing up, on top of more Lodoss characters of course (everybody loves Pirotess for one). I'm sure Parn is somewhere but he's whatever lol I imagine Ashram is a lock too |

I've known this series for some time but never tried to read the novel or watch the anime...
I have to admit that the artwork of the main protagonist triggered me in a hard way tho.
So is this a game based on the original or a sequel to the series? It seems like a good starting point to dive into the series.

theyve got the smoothness of motion down, but holy hell she drops like a rock and that animation cancel hovering just looks so fiddly, i really hope the platforming is very well placed cause precision platforming with her current movement would be a nightmare

It's been years since I've seen Lodoss and Rune Soldier. Darn shame I had no money to buy them when they were out on VHS/DVD. Gotta have to fix that.

I haven't seen the full TV series myself, but I hear good things about that as well. |

I was wondering if someone would bring that up, and of course it would be Brainiac. lol
Dark Flame to me always had that air of "probably not finishing", and I hate that I was right. Sometimes things strike me as being too ambitious for their own good/for the people (sometimes person x1) who wants to do them.

So the main content of this game has been completed by now, only a few extras like Boss Rush and achievements are waiting to be implemented.
I have a mixed feeling of it... Can't believe the music is composed by the same guys who made Touhou Luna Nights, given the music from that game was a blast... The overall map construction falls into the abyss of being way too simplistic, skill setup also lacking real variety. It gives me some feeling that the design direction was suddenly shifted from another Touhou Project-inspired game into this one, because Touhou Luna Nights was a successful example of using the Steam's Early Access development formula, a sequel of it is much more than desired. The fairy enemy with green hair and blue outfit, combining with attack style, seems to be inspired (and maybe reworked) from the character Daiyousei in some Touhou Project games, more than the things of Lodoss War, which I found way too out of place.
I won't rank the overall presentation of this title higher than some of the non-profit stuff like Lecarde Chronicles 1 simply because this game could be a lot better while keeping the consistency. Still, not a bad choice if the game is on sale and under $4.99 or less.
