 .hack// is conceptualized by Bandai (before it became NamcoBandai) back in 2002. A large portion the story is about people playing an MMORPG called "The World", and some people began to lost consciousness and couldn't log out of the game. Several privileged players are tasked to investigate these anomalies and destroy whatever is causing people to go missing and comatose. That's basically the synopsis of the series in a nutshell. The story is very involved, so I couldn't write it all down here without making you guys read a novel. Go here if you want know more about the series. I love this series so much! It's been over a decade I am still obsessed with .hack//'s rich storyline and characters, and of course its intriguing and involved gameplay. Has anyone else encountered this legendary series? |

Hah, yeah, I know this series. In fact, I marathoned everything this series had to give. The novels, the mangas, the video games, and the animes, all in chronological order.
But before I marathoned that, I found a light novel which was still being translated. It was up to like volume 1, chapter 17. It's called Sword Art Online. That novel was so good, I just had to do something to kill time for the next translated chapter. And so I marathoned .hack.
It's quite long too.
My favorite character from .hack would probably be Haseo.

It's one of the things that kept me head over heels with the .hack// series! And like everyone who posted here so far, my favourite character is Haseo, with Balmung following closely. |

It came with the bluray hybrid pack for the .hack//sekai no mukou ni movie. I don't think it's sold seperately. Try ebay? It's around $50-$60 over there.
