Thanks Ghaleon. I'd never heard of Ys and Crosscode games until you mentioned it They certainly have elements of Zelda about them ... though they instantly rekindled memories of an old game called Battle of Olympus that I played years ago on the NES. I'll be keeping these titles in mind once I've finished pondering whether to purchase Metroid: Samus Returns or not

ghaleon crosscode is amazing. highly recommend this title to anyone browsing steam, along with hyperlight drifter.

If I could make my own game, it would be a mixture of an immersive sim like Deus Ex(any of them), with a deep cyberpunk aesthetic and a deep combat system a-la Devil May Cry 3, 4, or 5. I mean real choice and consequence with a high reward/consequence for avoiding combat as well as engaging in it. Eye: Divine Cybermancy is a bit close to what this could be like, save for how impenetrable the story is.(And how janky it was)
I would also love to make a full on action game where it isn't just the enemies that are destructible. I want to make it so that the environments aren't just destructible, but usuable in the combat as well with out the use of QTEs. Think DMC5 or Bayonetta 2, but you'd be able to incorporate telephone poles or beer bottles into a fight as well. As far as characters and where this would take place, I have no idea. My first idea sounds more fleshed out.
Other ideas that I've had, such as every NPC having a story(the Trails series), has usually already been utilized in a fun way.

I have an entire “hyperverse” at my disposal in the form of my own books. The original Zelda also inspired me to pursue my creative endeavors. I would love to have my books made into videogames some day. The setting would be futuristic, and instead of having the main character of the book being the protagonist, I would make the mentor the game’s protagonist. In terms of mechanics, it would be a combination of DMC games, DB Xenoverse and WWE 2K games (in terms of grapple and submission moves). There would be RPG type inventory and status menus. The option to install a TV on the wall is the website of the company that will do it in Virginia. interesting story
