I'm sure high potions and high ethers doesn't taste to good...(someone said that on a thread and i like it) The last Bloodstained update (see it HERE) showed us how crafting works in the game and it is easy and efficient. You gather up to four different materials / itens / gears, and use them up to create new itens / gears. You can also quickly see some kind of list of materials and what itens and gear they would give. Bloodstained is not finished yet, but it is in the process of it, so, it's probably that suggestions are harder to be accepted now. Even so, i thought it could be fun if we suggest materials for crafting in the game. These are the materials and itens / gears craftable that was shown in the update: High Potion: Potion, Melted Skull, Tail, Giant Frog Eye. High Ether: Ether, Melted Skull, Bat Fangs, Egg. Lohengrin: Gram, Fire Stone, Steel. Schedar: Gram, Vepar Fangs, Steel. Lightning Bolt: Gram, Amethyst Fragment, Steel. Partisan: Spear, Amethyst Fragment, Steel. Thorn Whip: Whip, Moco Plant Leaf, bat Fangs. Armor Piercing: (?) Brigandine: (?) Considering all that, let's create materials for crafting. The format should be this: NAME OF THE MATERIAL: Description. Usage: In what itens / gear this material should be used to create them. You can made-up such itens and gears. From: Where this material comes from, in what enemy / enemies. You can use enemies already shown in the game or made up some. Rarity: how rare or unique do you think the material is ( Common, Moderate, Rare or Very Rare). Everything above, with the exception of the name of the material, is optional. THe rest can be added if you feel like adding it. You can suggest up to THREE materials (in order to not over pollute your thread and not take other's peoples ideas). I'm going to do the first ones, as an example.
BLACK GOO: A piece of black goo from a morte-like enemy. Usage: Black Potion (increases defense for 30 seconds), Morte Sword (Sword that can summon Mortes). From: Morte, Morte Cannon, Morte Bone and any morte-like enemy. Rarity: Moderate. DARK STEEL: a steel that became darkened, thanks to the contact with darkness itself. Usage: Kongo (A mythological Spear of Darkness), Whip of Darkness (A Whip with darkness element), Dark Ring (A ring that increases STR and decreases DEF). From: Dark Knight (A knight in a dark armor), Amy. Rarity: Rare. DEMONIC BONE: a bone taken from a demon. Usage: Beast Axe (An axe made of bones), Bone Armor (an armor made of bones, ultra defense against bone attacks). From: Morte Bone, Bone-like enemies. Rarity: Very Rare. That's all folks!

From: Remove from shrine to obtain a certain Familiar. Rarity: N/A DiamondUsage: Can be sold for an incredible amount of Gold / Used in crafting "Vajra", a "Mirror Cuirass", or enhancing the " Glass Sword" joke-weapon. From: Found in breakable wall and/or dropped from "Golem" enemies. Rarity: Very Rare. Sage's SpineUsage: Crafting either "Uncurse Tonics" or the "Vajra". These are ingredients for a Shard Sword (is there a better name for this?)
EMPTY SHARD: A shard that has no power in it, an empty shell but a very strong crystal Usage: Contains powers or can be use in weapon making From: Dropped by very strong enemies, after a good amount of energy is used (after a very powerful attack) and even then it is not guaranteed. Rarity: Very Rare
ETHEREAL BLADE: A blade that cannot be wielded Usage: Can be used to add sharpness to anything From: Walking dead samurai, insane blacksmith, floating sword (I don't know it there will be monsters like this but basically anything that carries a sword). Rarity: Rare
YGGDRASIL'S BRANCH: A branch from the world tree Usage: it can be used in potions, and weapon making From: any wood type monster Rarity: Moderate
RAGS OF LOST SOULS: The clothes a ghost wears Usage: Can be used in Mana restoration potions, Armor and in very rare occasions can be used for weapon making From: Any kind of Ghosts Rarity: Common
This weapon makes a lot of sense... the empty shard is the blade, the ethereal blade makes it sharp, the Yggdrasil branch is for the handle and finally the rags of lost souls is for the handle wrap.
I think there should be Shard weapon for every type of weapon... can you imagine that? Oh and this recipe is for the large two handed sword.

JeffCross You could simply call it the "Crystal Sword", to give you an idea. You are solely emphasizing that the empty shard is very strong crystal material, right? It doesn't have any magic power that most Shards [that Miriam will collect] would have, so the only use she'd get out of it is the raw material of the shard itself.

Wow Galamoth I way over thought that name lol... I wanted to give the crystal the ability to absorb energy... it could absorb energy and let out an ultra critical when it gets full or it can release that energy when you use a special directional attack...

JeffCross Sounds cool! Here's more ideas from me. Cardice (Kudos if you know what real material this is another name for.) Usage: Crafting powerful Ice-element Weapons; such as "Frostbite" (Dagger) and "Lethe" (Whip). From: Found in Secret Room, located in ice-filled section of Gebel's Castle. Also dropped by Forneus and other water-dwelling demons. Rarity: Moderate Rubedo (the ultimate sign of success in alchemy) Usage: Required for crafting the Ward of Nael ~ an accessory that provides Miriam with insane boosts to INT, MND, & CON as well as allowing her to absorb MP from hostile spells. ("Nael" is Arabic for triumph) From: Unlocked by fulfilling conditions for Best Ending [OR Secret Ending], and found in a secret area near the castle-entrance. Rarity: One (can only be found once in a playthrough)

What if we could build furniture and stuff for our room (yes I am still holding out that we have a room to decorate and sleep when we need to). I wonder if we can only get items from enemies or if there will be a way to forage.
WOOD: Umm... it's wood... not much more to say... ummm... usually comes from trees? Usage: Can be used for weapon building, making building furniture or miscellaneous items From: Wooden creatures... also can be foraged Rarity: Very Common
IRON ORE: A common but versatile metal found in the area Usage: Can be used for making screws, containers, weapons and many other items From: Iron Golems, any enemy with iron weapons/armor or it can be foraged Rarity: Very Common
SOFT WHITE DOWN: Soft white feather down Usage: Can be used for insulation From: Young cockatrice, or any white bird like enemy Rarity: Common
COTTON: Makes thread and then can changed into sheets of cloth Usage: Can be used to make various things including clothing, sheets, bedding etc From: Smaller plant type monsters or cotton plants growing in the wild Rarity: Common
All the items here can be used to make furniture... I hope there will be a way to make or find furniture... also how do you guys feel about scavenging and forging

Impossible Angle: The unsettling nature of this object seems to constantly shift in unnerving ways. As soon as it appears stable it just as quickly slips into an aberrant form from which your mind reels. Usage: Shining Trapezohedron (Consumable that summons a powerful creature for a short time), Silver Key (A ring that allows access to remote times and places). From: Gugs. Rarity: Very Rare.
