The women of SNK’s fighting game franchises are coming together for a brand-new, stand-alone title: SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy. The two-on-two fighting game is coming to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 this summer, SNK and publisher NIS America announced today. SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy will feature 14 playable characters plucked from the King of Fighters and Art of Fighting franchises. Confirmed characters include Athena Asamiya, Kula Diamond, Leona Heidern, Mai Shiranui and Yuri Sakazaki. The game will feature a one-button fighting mechanic and a special finishing move known as the Dream Finish. The game’s official description says players will make use of special items in combat “to turn the tide of battle.” SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy will support online battles, as well as a spectator mode where players can bet on matches using an in-game currency. Those winnings can be spent to buy voice clips and other cosmetic accessories that will let players customize their characters. SNK and NIS America will release SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy on Switch this summer. Here’s a sparkly logo to whet your appetite.

I really hope it reaches PC, i don't have any of the new's generation systems due to them being absurdly overpriced here (and due to me being unemployed =\). If it goes out on PC, i'm surely going to get it.

It will come out on PC eventually, looking at KOF XIII and XIV both being on PC then why not, but I think it will release a year later or so.. but it will eventually come out!  |

I'm just a bit worried that this isn't an actual fighting game, but regardless of what its genre is, I'm definitely getting it.
There's also a big collector's edition pre-order open already from Nippon Ichi's US store.

The idea that we have to do a Dream Cancel to actually defeat opponents bothers me.
Regardless, it looks a bit... casual-ized. As well as fan-servicey as hell. I'll still be keeping an eye on it, and I hope that Hotaru Futuba, Iroha, and Hinako get in.

Thanks for the quick reply! As far as a PC release goes, I believe it is very likely. Just recently GOG had an SNK sale with most of their library available for purchase. The sale had PC ports of the Fatal Fury series, Art of Fighting, KOF and Samurai Showdown as well as others.

It is not SNK's first outing in the genre.
There was SNK Gals' Fighters for the Neo Geo Pocket, with a surprise character that doesn't belong to the cast, but it's a secret. ^^
I can sense the IMMENSE potential for fanservice in this title, like if the screenshots weren't enough.
As for the characters so far, they're safe bets, for sure!

I was wondering who was holding that cross/wand thing, as I couldn't remember any SNK character who wielded something like that. Turns out it's given to a character that never held it in the first place, lol.
Thinking that Sylvie Paula Paula will be in the roster. She seemed to become reasonably popular after KoFXIV released, and I'm fairly certain that one of the silhouettes is her.

That looks so different from the original Nakoruru. The design doesn't really fit her character or personality I feel.
But... I don't mind because it's vampire themed! haha
Well... I'm happy with something SNK related on the Nintendo Switch (not counting the Neo Geo games).
Even if it's not developed by them, it's nice and it's a step towards a future KOF on that console, or any other SNK game.
Hopefully it's a good game, SNK Gals for Neo Geo Pocket Color was great, and since it had chibi graphics, it didn't rely on sexuality.
I kinda fear when games have too much sexual fanservice because sometimes it's there to sell without having a really good gameplay.
And also because it kinda throws me off and it feels too dirty and uncomfortable sometimes.
And often it's just plain dumb to the point of being kinda hilarious (Maria's out of nowhere breast obsession that has nothing to do with her original character and personality at all in Judgement and the "Erotic Violence" pachislot thing, anyone?)
However, I hope that's not the case.
I trust SNK to not let a studio do just whatever to their characters.

The outfits not fitting their characters/personalities is kind of an intentional choice - the background story for the game is that Kukri (a KoF XIV character) has somehow kidnapped and trapped several of the female characters in a mansion and made them wear silly outfits. That's why they're all so embarrassed/surprised in the art shots (and I think why Athena is commonly pissed off lol)
If you've seen those comics that SNK has been putting up on social media, the cute ones with all the girls doing random things and Kukri spying on them, that seems to be the actual prelude/story for the game lol. It's somewhat similar to what Zack does in DOA Xtreme.

That's interesting, I actually didn't know because I don't actually use social media other than YouTube (and some 2 other gaming forums).
I actually like this idea, just because it's so silly to the point of being weirdly amazing, like... World Heroes or Waku Waku 7 (well, now I kinda wish some characters from World Heroes were in this too).
