Well met Army of the night!
Since I noticed you have None, consider this your very official - but really unofficial Tokusatsu thread! What is Tokusatsu you ask? Well to put it in a simple way, think Power Rangers & Godzilla, though in Japan there are a bit more IPs.
Two of the more famous ones are Toei Comapny's (and broadcasted by TV Asashi) is the SUPERHERO TIME, which consits of Super Sentai (which is known in the west as Power Rangers) and Kamen Rider (which I'm an absolute fan of!) (there was an attempt to bring Kamen Rider to the west, though it didn't click with the audience as Power Rangers did).
There are other series, like the GARO franchise that is carrying the genre MIDNIGHT ACTION. Basically tokusatsu not aimed at Kids, but adults... but let's face it, they also aim at the child within us.
There are many more series and subgenres, but I don't want to fill you head with a lot of (proably) meaningless titles, just to spin your head around and if you are a tokusatsu fan, you probably know other series by heart.
My entrance in the toku (yep, we use that abreviation) world was at a very young age, though it was not clear to me, with the occisanal dubbed movies, but the most Impact on me was a super cut of the series SUPER ROBOT MACH BARON into a 86 minute movie.
Fast forward to my teenage years and I've seen some peculiar episodes of Kamen Rider W, but I didn't follow up and halted... it was only some years later I went to enjoy the full extent of the Kamen Rider and other toku series.
So here I am now, in the Bloodstained Forum and asking if there are any other fans of toku.
BONUS ROUND: VAMPIRE & STAINED GLASSMODE!
Believe it or not, Kamen Rider had once a vampire and stained glass theme with Kamen Rider Kiva, which aired in the 2008 / 2009 season, where the monster that had been fought shattered in stained glass, or revealed a stained glass pattern when they tranformed from human to monster form! What was also interesting that the series took place in two different timelines - 20 years apart - and unveiled a lot of the backstory as the series progressed. So, if you are high off this kickstarter and can't get enough of vampires and stained glass and you are intereted in tokusatsu this might be the place to start for you!
