Do I have to pay custom fees for collector's edition?

I don't think anyone will know for certain. Customs fees seem pretty random in general. That said my own experience is that I can get stuff from the states using Fedex without being charged. But if they use UPS I'll get dinged.

This is a very good topic. When the 300 USD backed editions are sent, hopefully the value mentioned on the package will be less, i.e. an estimation of the price of a game, audio CD and shirt. The higher amount we payed as backers is not the same as the merchandise price. We have also payed for the development with that money. In my country in Europe, the customs and additional costs are very high so I could end up paying 150 USD more at the customs. Is it possible to get some official confirmation on this? When there is no receipt in the package, I am asked to provide it. The only thing I have is the kickstarter receipt, which is not really the price of the bonus that will be sent. It would be great if we can find a solution. Is it possible to ship the packages from European Union to the countries in EU?

This was their reply, looks like international buyers are gonna pay customs fees.

"While these items would be eligible for customs fees, we unfortunately can not predict these as taxes are imposed after the products cross the border."

I got this from their website:

"We're a small videogame merchandise company based in—and shipping from—Tucson, Arizona."

Also by searching "customs calculator" on Google I found one for Canada which says I'm going to be paying $50 for it 😔

I am used to get minor things from other countries, and pay 4-5x that price in just customs. So if I want, for example a Bloodstained sticker, I need to put like $8 just for the customs I believe, while the stickers are $2. If I buy something heavy, like the highest available tier right now, I will know soon enough how much I need to pay extra when that time comes. Hopefully I have the money by then!

Even though I am pretty sure I will have to pay the tax, and I can accept that, it should not be made based on the kickstarter payment, but on the “actual value” of the products. It would a good idea to get a confirmation/bill on request to one’s email, stating the actual value of products. This would help a lot to have a more acceptable tax and customs fee. If we do nothing about this issue, I will have to present a bill for the high price tier and consequently have to pay a huge amount of tax and customs fees. Thanks for trying to find a solution.

As said even if they're unfortunately all sent from the US, knowing the value declared would be helpful so we can predict the price of customs and thus the total.
