Ive seen responses to Bloodstained posts in places like Facebook where people are requesting "Android Please." That comment usually comes along with a few likes.
What the hell am I missing out on? Do people seriously think Bloodstained could run on a phone and be controlled with a touch screen? Am I just missing out on playing games in this genre on my phone? Is this real life?
Bloodstained will have the prequel on 3DS. The main game will be on Switch and Vita. That's more portable gaming than one could normally hope for. Can UE4 even build an Android app?
What does this say about the mobile phone game market? I'm not asking what it says about the people that ask for Bloodstained on Android. No need for insulting them, especially because it makes me curious on how gaming is changing. What do you think?

It says they emulate Castlevania games on their cell phones and don't want to buy a console/have a PC. lol
A tie-in game could be neat, though. AlcheMiriam, the addictive mixing stuff game that generates unlock codes?

The Android OS is not necessarily specifically to phones. For example, the Kindle Fire is an Android based device which can be used with Bluetooth game controllers and streamed to a television. I've played a re-release of the old Duck Tales NES game on it with a setup like that and it worked well.

Here's the main issue I have with this kind of request, any technical issues of a port aside. Of the people asking for an Android(and I assume some would want an iOS port instead) version, how many would be willing to pay as much as the people buying the game on other platforms? Not many, I'd assume. So many of these people are looking not only for ArtPlay to put more resources into yet another port, but they also likely expect to get it for a standard mobile app price instead of at a console/PC price point.
It just isn't something that makes any sense to me from any angle given the differences in how the markets operate.

I'm not even sure if the 'stained prequel would fit in a smartphone.
It could be possible for a 'stained-derived game to exist, however, but that surely wouldn't exist before a while. What's funnier, it would actually give a feeling a cheapness to an IP that still got to prove itself, which obviously is counter-productive.
I have always pleaded for realistic views, thus following realistic suggestions and wishes. I am glad that Master Iga is following that path. As for that Android port suggestion, I do not think this is viable at all in terms of time, budget and technical considerations. That's all I can say.

Even if some high-end phones could run Bloodstained competently, I'm not sure playing it with touch control would be a good idea. Maybe they can find partners to develop a mobile tie-in app, but I don't think it will help much.

There may be room for a mobile Bloodstained spinoff someday--I know Skullgirls got one--but yeah, I'm with the other folks, at this stage it doesn't seem like it'd be a good idea or very profitable. Maybe after the main game has established itself as a success.

UE4 is able to publish to Android.
I messed around with it a bit myself and got something running on my phone.
So it might be possible to port to Android, however it still means they will need to revamp allot of the game to make it work on mobile. Also, touchscreen controls >.>

re: Amazon Kindle and all that, yeah, tablets. I have an Asus Shield myself that can run a lot of things. I doubt that's a significant enough demographic for the effort and time involved. I'm not sure you can publish a game to mobile OSs without actual touchscreen support to the point that it functions enough to play through the game. At that point, it's probably not Igavania anymore.

Makes no sense, to start with there is the issue of GPU performance power, there is absolutely no way a phone GPU would be able to run a game made in UE4, hell the Bloodstained demo has FPS drops even on many dedicated Desktop GPU. Second controls would be awful on a touchscreen, and even for those who can attach controles to their phones and other stuff to solve this there is the problem of the small screen.
And come on, that makes no sense, even if you play some GBA/DS castlevania games there, you still need to deal with battery issues, it will drain superfast. By the way i nearly never play anything on the phone, idk it's not my thing.

It may be that there are certain folks vested in Android who just want a piece of that Bloodstained revenue/goodness pie for their company-tied Android device.
Can't really blame them. But I feel this game that we've all been supporting will not "fit" the smartphone medium without unnecessary sacrifices to Iga's vision and game direction, something that Iga and co. clearly and unambiguously will not go with, at least in my opinion.

I only played fallout shelter and the second it came to steam I switched to pc, oddly a lot of good final fantasy games have their best ports on ios and not for steam :/

It makes my stomach turn seeing the touch overlay on Castlevania games. I haaaate that lol on top of that, I'll see people with 9999 HP Alucard asking for help with the game. Like...really guy? hahaha. If you're doing all that, you'd think there'd be around at least a 5% effort of figuring out what to do. Then these same people probably post "game was ok". Thanks for keeping the console gaming spirit alive, IGA! lol
