Igavania games are considered one of the best games for completionists. A completionist is a player that enjoys doing everything and having everything a game can offer. All items, equipments, levels, stages and such. Some completionists goes as far as trying to max out everything (like having 99 items for each item and such).
All Igavania games had map percentage, but nothing much else. Order of Ecclesia had a item list, but that's it. So, i have some suggestions to help completionists to fullfill their objective in the game and i wanted to share with you all and ask for new ideas on this.
1) PERCENTAGES
Bloodstained should have a castle map percentage, of course, but not only that. The game could also have a percentage of items adquired separated by category (weapons, armor, acessories, use items and such) and even separate percentages for each castle area, so, the player could have a guessing that a certain area, that looks completed, stil have secrets to be found if it's percentage is not 100% (although that could make secrets a bit easier to be found).
2) LISTS
Bloodstained will have a bestiary, i think that is a given. But the game could also have item / equipment / shard lists, also separated by category. Items / equipment / shards the player didn't obtained yet are marked as so, the player knows it still have a long way to go.
3) WARNINGS
The game could make a warning when you are about to sell or use something in forging (or just use overall) something that is one-of-a-kind. When you are about to sell a sword you just can't obtain it anymore (aside from new game + ) or when you are going to use it to forge something, as soon as you press "Sell / forge" the game pops up a window "[ITEM NAME] cannot be found again! Are you sure you want to sell it?" / "[ITEM NAME] cannot be found again! Are you sure you want to use it for forging?"
If you is about to use a item (like food) that cannot be found again, maybe it is the last one and you already found them all if there is more than one, the same would happen. "[ITEM NAME] cannot be found again! Are you sure you want to use it?"
Alternatively, the game could simply block the selling and the use for forging, of one-of-a-kind items and equipment. The game could also NOT have one-of-a-kind items and equipment at all. Everything can be forged / obtained in drops.
The game could also pop-up a message when you just obtained something new. A small, discreete thing at the botoom left of the screen, for instance, saying something like "New Item / Equipment / Shard added to the Item / Equipment / Shard list"
Those are my ideas. What are yours?
