Some of you have heard me mention Arcana Heart before, and now it's in need of some help to keep going. The immediate plan is a Steam port of the latest arcade game, but that's just a first step to then add more characters and then eventually another entirely new game. I'd love to see it happen, I've been playing the series competitively for over 10 years now and it's just so much fun. The level of variety in insane, the variety that other current fighting games really should learn from.
A number of the guys behind it worked on the Samurai Shodown/Spirits series, specifically SS5 Special, which is commonly held as the best alongside SS2.
It also shares some little Castlevania bits. The character Elsa is nun-like and uses almost all of the classic weapons (a whip, cross, holy water, axe, stake, book). No dagger or watch, but you can simulate either with many choices of straight projectiles or using Time arcana for the stopwatch effect ;p
The music is also pretty good, and very energetic. I especially like AH2's tracks, and all of the series' music will be in the game. I might link some stuff like that later. In the meantime though, check out all the silly art and how ridiculous the character designs are lol. I'm not really into how it looks or story all that much - just the system and Arcana options really make it for me. I play the maid girl with the big sword.

I just heard about the Kickstarter and I was going to come over here and tell you about it purifyweirdshard but I guess you would be one to be on top of something like this LOL. I think this is on track to hit its 100k goal though its going to be interesting to see how deep into the stretch goal well they will hit. I think this will need more publicity and really appealing/reachable stretch goals to get the ball really rolling. I figure many won't touch this sans a PS4, XBONE and/or SWITCH version for example.  I guess these are silhouettes for new characters (in addition to "not Makoto Nanaya") they intend to add if the campaign goes well enough? Hopefully they have cool and broadly appealing enough designs to tip over any stragglers and not just "moe-loli #253223" the game is already saturated with  Also what sort of netcode is this using? Did they say it and I missed it? No delay-type netcode plz >_< Finally, they don't intend to fund the next game with the KS if things get wild with this campaign right? Just that a successful campaign here tells them there is enough demand to move onto a true sequel (I get the sense they have been doing AH3 revisions for years now) in the future? I just want to make sure I understood things correctly. Anyway I wish the campaign success. I don't think I'd be inclined to back it but for its fans hopefully the campaign does well  |

Ha crocodile, yeah I was on a mailing list notifying me when the campaign would go live. I knew about it even before then from twitter with the producer asking if he should do it, etc. I was one of those people on twitter he's talking about, answering his polls etc. The new silhouettes, to me, look like (left to right)... Pinwheel (from Skullgirls) with a shark tail. SHARK GIRL A big, grown woman, Amazon-type, who fights hand to hand An older teenager/adult ninja that uses two swords So none of these may technically even be a loli? The first may be kind of a monster girl mashup thing, but the other two look a bit tall to be little girls. Maybe even the first, but who cares she's a shark. Re: the netcode, it wasn't mentioned, but I'm guessing they'll use what they have been already, which is more or less what we call standard Arc System Works netcode. ASW published the series' console ports and the previous games' Steam port. It functions pretty much just the same as Blazblue or Persona's netcode, which is to say pretty good. This could change if ASW isn't involved in helping them, which isn't mentioned either, but I would expect something along those lines at least. For that last part, it's not immediately clear, but it appears that the funds from this go directly to adding things to Six Stars itself. We'll see what the stretch goals are, but they sound to me like characters. I suppose what would get AH4 rolling is the success of the game after release. That'll take a lot, A LOT more than 100k though. |

SHARK GIRLI hope we at least get to Dark Heart. Omega is kinda...whatever. Parace becoming an arcana is cool. For those that don't know, that dark elf girl is imo the hardest fighting game boss of all time. It's tough as it is beating her in Score Attack, but at the end of trial mode for every character, you have to beat her and...it's almost like winning the lottery unless you happen to be using one particular character + arcana combination. If someone here can do it without Metal Angelia, I'll give them $100 lol.

I backed. I'm a huge fighting game fan and I've been meaning to check out this series for some time, so this seemed like the perfect chance. I'm willing to try out pretty much any fighting game if I can get it for $25 or under. This kinda looks like the game Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel is trying to be, and I enjoyed that game well enough, so I don't see how this could be worse.

...Given I am an owner of Arcana Heart 3 Love MAX (I refuse to put the few exclamation marks around), I wonder what really new they'd bring to the table.
Some of the rewards seem nice, but there is no "we create a character of your choice"... That's really too bad.*
...The game is already funded, grats to them!

Well, 325k for a Steam port ain't bad at all! haha. We're getting Shark Girl for sure, which is great. SHARKS
Also, interestingly, this is the first Kickstarter that I know of where there were more Japanese backers than US. 1109 to 984, I believe. Pretty impressive showing.
