I am still playing Tagatame no Alchemist. Finally got Kudanstein's alternate character skin! I have unlocked his final job since uploading the video, and now I have to start from square one again to power him up to where he was at before changing jobs. Slowly watched him descent into madness as I was going through Chapter 7 of the Hijiriishi no Tsuioku event quests.

Sonic Forces. It has its flaws, to be sure, but it's legitimately fun for me. Awesome music, and the character creation adds to the entertainment. :3

Yakuza Kiwami. This game is sillier than I expected it to be.

How long did it take you to play through? I probably spent on the ballpark of 20 hours on Mario Odyssey, its not a super long game unless you want to collect all 999 moons. It was fun though, I enjoyed it a lot.

How long did it take you to play through? I probably spent on the ballpark of 20 hours on Mario Odyssey, its not a super long game unless you want to collect all 999 moons. It was fun though, I enjoyed it a lot. That is a pretty good length to me! I never really considered how long it would take to complete. Now that I think about it, the only Mario game that I have really played (and completed) was Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (the first video game I ever received! It was bundled with the Super NES) but that was so long ago that I don't have any conception of how long it took. Actually, a fun story! I was very young, so it was a bit difficult for me, for some reason I lent the game (or Super NES as well) to my brother, he completed the game and returned it to me with his save file, so I could select and play any level I wanted, it wasn't until many, many years later that I dug it out and played through (and completed it, minus the bonus levels which I had no idea how to unlock) it myself!

Currently playing or have started to play:Etrian Odyssey V - Beyond the Myth:Bought the game on release date but intentionally waited until now in order to get the FM sound pack. My goodness, the title screen BGM in FM is... surreal . I can tell I will have such a good time with this title! Disgaea 2 - Cursed Memories PS2:I got into the series after playing the first game on the PS2 a handful of years ago, and I have been trying to find some time to actually continue playing the series in order. My backlog also contains 3 through 5, so what better time than now to really get back into and get up to speed with the amazing Disgaea universe! Final Fantasy V PS1:Playing via Final Fantasy Anthology PS1 disc on a PS2 console. I originally planned on playing Final Fantasy III SNES after completing FF2 SNES, but Anthology just happened to get delivered to my place and in a timely manner, just after completing FF2 SNES. So I'll be playing in order then, and FF3 SNES (aka FF VI) will have to wait! >> Below is an update to my previous post. Spoilers contain spoiler-y comments since each game has been completed.Final Fantasy II SNES (Final Fantasy IV):Finished with a game save file time of just over 57 hours. About 1/3 of the total time was only on Pink Tail hunting, as detailed below. My party member's levels were at the 77-82 range.
The music at the Moon is is atmospherically awesome. The Moon Overworld music have these trumpet-sounding chirps that give this overall mood of the unknown and discovering a grossly alien territory. But more so, the drone piano key that plays twice during the first 20 seconds or so while moving between cave channels along the Lunar Path. It's the path that heads to the crystal room leading to the Lunar Subterrane. Such an elegant and powerful yet ridiculously simple music bit, I'm always at complete awe whenever I get a chance to listen. If I'm fortunate enough to not get an encounter while walking through at least one of the two sections of the Lunar Path, I stop right before the exit towards the crystal room so that the droning piano finishes. Feels. So. Good.
So I finally was able to get one Pink Tail drop after two weeks of trying! Resulted in defeating roughly 350 PinkPuffs before running into one that thankfully dropped the Pink Tail, the item required to obtain the most powerful armor in the game that anyone can equip, which is the Adamant Armor. And it was worth it! I chose to equip it on Rosa, and the armor helped boost her stats to be closely normalized alongside everyone else in the party. I tried the armor on Rydia, but only her Wis and Will stats improved, and she didn't improve as much as how Rosa did and so wasn't the one wearing it. No reason to give Adamant Armor to Cecil, Kain, or Edge, as they're each have been fairing good in battles as they were. Now that my FF IV Pink Tail Single Drop run has finished, I'll have to recover from some mild case of ptsd after doing my PTSD run! (it's ok if this wasn't funny at all.....)
Oh and during the ending scenes when we view space from a telescope and see the moon pass by our view, then afterwards Cecil mentions that he heard his brother's voice say “Goodbye”.... Did the moon just fly out of orbit and go on a collision course?!? Well, with Dissidia NT coming out, we know Cecil's brother will be in the game, so we can assume he's still... alive and well? Metroid Samus Returns:Completed the easiest mode with a time of 22:09:03 according to end game credits.
I enjoyed fighting each of the metroid evolution types, and as they progressed in difficulty, I never felt like I had a significant disadvantage against them. As long as I am fully aware of the tools at my disposal once a fight with any of the Metroids began, I can be able to take any of them down.
The baby metroid! For so long I was wondering if I needed the power bomb or some aeion ability to break down the crystal barriers, but turns out that the baby metroid I save after defeating the queen eats/breaks the crystals for you! That's so cool! And since this is a remake of the game leading up to Super Metroid, I love how these events eventually tie in to the beginning of Super Metroid.
Just one con I can think of: I didn't like switching between regular missile and super missile by bottom touch screen. Further adds to my disappointment by not having been implemented a way to toggle missile types by other means, such as the N3DS's ZL and ZR buttons. I would have more appreciated this game if I never ever had to take my eyes off of the top screen while playing and worrying if my thumb/stylus input happens to register in order to choose the right missile type during tight situations. It's as though Nintendo is saying “We're so glad you're playing a new Metroid 2D game from us finally and oh... by the way... we would like to subtly heavily remind you that the 3DS has a touch screen!!!!! (Mario voice “Waa hoooooooooo!!!!)”
Even though the animation framerate is not high, I found it surprisingly fluid to control Samus with the analog disk and manage enemies with the melee attack. The melee feature is such a neat addition to the expected 2D Metroid platforming experience I was hoping for in this title, which was more than adequately delivered. 真・女神転生 SYNCHRONICITY PROLOGUE:Finished the game and found a glitch. There's a wooden platform towards the bottom-center of an open room ocated about one level above the elephant boss (forgot what his name is) and in the predominantly-yellow-colored zone where the entrance was poison-blocked, requiring the Demonee-Ho suit to progress. With Jack wearing the Demonee-Ho suit, if you do a jump then rapidly press fire while aiming down and sweeping from left to right while descending towards the platform, Jack will eventually manage to clip through the platform and end up landing on the ground of the room right before the boss fight, with the save room to the left. So I was stuck and wasn't able to get back to that platform at all, and to make matters worse I was under-leveled for the boss fight and seemingly had no other choice in order to proceed with the scenario. I then began trying to find ways to work around my issue without resorting to restarting my game file. I tried hacking the save file to see if I can be able to spawn on a higher location from a save file load. What I ended up doing is modifying values within the save file using notepad++ to completely max out my level and jack up (pun intended) my attack power level to way over 9000. Up to just over 3 million to be more exact. This led to basically one-shot'ing everything, even the final boss and each of his forms, yet demon weaknesses still needed to be accounted for... For example, a single attack with Jack's standard ice throw with a 3,000,000 attack stat to a demon completely resistant to ice still results in 0 damage! Here's hoping for a worldwide PC release of SMT: Synchronicity! Hee-Ho!!!!!!

Hey, have you heard of Final Fantasy IV: The After (Years)? It's on the Wii and part of the PSP's "Complete Collection" version. But anyways, spoilers for that He definitely survives, and in fact comes back to help Cecil (and his son) later.

purifyweirdshard Yes, I certainly have. I own the PSP UMD but haven't found the opportunity to play it yet. Still sealed with the $30 sticker from Fry's when I bought it so many years ago. Cool! I think I'm guessing right that Cecil's son's mom is Rosa?
