So you say the word "Zombie" is not public domain? Not what I meant. TWD and other similar works have to behave as if the sheer glut of modern-style zombie media doesn't exist in-universe for them. They're also deliberately avoiding the name due to both overuse and the fact that, in terms of actual origins, a true zombie is something else entirely (the modern interpretation is closer to ghouls). Castlevania is ENTIRELY geared towards facing a supreme vampiric dark lord. While it doesn't HAVE to be Dracula, since he's public domain, it's perfectly valid to use him and, frankly, an unnecessary change. In other words, the terminology used in the adaptation of The Walking Dead is consistent with its comic source. Why wouldn't the adaptation of Castlevania do the same? Ok, but I asked about other monsters too, not only the Vampire. But there is no need to ask my question since you obviously had the answer. Thank you. |

Wow, this many questions can spawn hours of conversation and I'm not even sure about how much of his time hes able to give us. It's going to be tough for me to please everyone, but I think I can work some of these in conversation naturally. The only bad part about doing that is people's names don't get attached to the questions. I'll put names with questions when I can, but just keep an ear out for the answers to your questions coming in a round a bout kinda way and I'm sorry if your name doesn't get mentioned. There are a few really great questions above. I really like Galamoth's question about Hector. I will ask about the life of the project and how far it goes back with Ellis and the original ideas/art. I will ask about goat fucking, because I have no idea what you're talking about and I really want to know what the hell that is about.
This will be good. Adi has been very responsive so far in setting this up. While I frown upon lovemaking with animals, I'd be disappointed if you didn't ask about that, and I'd be disappointed if Adi Shankar didn't include something like that in Netflix Castlevania; it seems consistent with the boundary-pushing, unexpected type of content he'd include in his work. This whole thing seems like a great opportunity and I'm glad Adi sounds enthusiastic about the interview. |

What kind of monsters can we expect to see? Will this tale stick with the beastly, albeit relatively meager, menagerie of CastleVania III or include enemies from across the vast pages of the Monster Dictionary? (Personally I'd love to see badass animated forms of CV3's Skull Knight, Bone Dragon King, and Fish Man. A cameo of Slogra would also rule although he doesn't make his debut until Super CV4.) |

That is an amazing worst case scenario and I hope everything with scheduling works out for both of you. When Adi said he's seen most of the questions, does that mean he stopped by the boards and read them? Because h e strikes me as someone who embraced the whole experience of being a fan and used that to drive/motivate/inspire himself to make Dredd and his Bootleg Universe short films, and if that's the case, you are probably going to conduct his favorite interview about the Castlevania Netflix series since the questions are coming from Castlevania fans.

When I host a show, I make a Google doc and put all the questions there, organize them and ask them in the best way I feel possible. Then I share that outline to my guest and have them look it over so they aren't surprised by anything and can adjust it as they see fit.

Important update regarding this interview.
It will be a few months before the audio interview, but it's still going to happen. Therefore I will most likely have an episode or two released before Adi comes on. Netflix must clear the episode, and that won't be a problem, it's just going to take a while.
Here's the good news though. Adi has our questions and will be sending me answers every few weeks. Then in a few months we can actually do the audio interview. This means I can read his responses to you as I get them in other episodes and in this forum.
Adi Shankar has been responsive daily in communication. He is friendly and professional. I'm excited to bring you what information I can, and apologize this isn't going the way the normal shows go. Thanks for your encouragement.
