In the last BCB podcast episode, one of the questions (mine actually) was ask to Ben Judd about our mascot making an appearance in Bloodstained. Well. To make Ben's (and everone's) job easier. I figured we make a thread with a list of ideas of how  could still make it. Just one very simple ground rule, he can't be a familiar. Everything else is fair game. Here is my list 1) A plush toy for Miriam's room. It could be a bit of a throw back to the decoration room in Harmony of Dissonance. 2) A statue somewhere in the castle. 3) the game's equivalence of Medusa heads. 4) Painting maybe. Do you guys have any ideas? The more we have the better the chances Iga could go "That can work". |

I like the statue idea. There should be a room that has a pair of Goofball statues. Maybe even have Goofball be the centerpiece in a blood fountain or something.

Stars don't look mobile enough to be Medusa heads. They seem rather floaty...but I may be missing some of their finer points. Anyway, bloodstainedfanforums.com/post/31209Maximus posted a in the shoutbox just now and just seeing it again gave me an amazing idea.
What if as a cheat, all the enemies would be replaced with Goofballs? It would be a very amusing callback to April Fool's Day on the forum for those that immediately "get it", and for those that don't, it would be pretty funny regardless to experience.
They could all be doing various things, hiding in various places, have varying amounts of HP (perhaps the same as what was their counterpart in-game before), etc. Goofball Day in Bloodstained. Man, lol
This could also just be a random Roguelike option or possibility, maybe a cheat of that instead. haha Also, I still think that Goofball could be a DLC familiar. Yeah, it lost in the poll and we don't want to devalue the winner and participation in that by including the others, but add familiar options as additional paid content post-release would be a separate matter. The people that would care enough to have it would be definitely fine with supporting IGA/the game further. |

could always be an exceedingly rare monster in Bloodstained, appearing only under certain circumstances/special conditions are met. Or perhaps a random appearance just based on Luck. (I think this is the very first time I've ever started a sentence with a smiley.)

- Can be in the game as an enemy. Simple. Maybe, as mentioned above by me, a minion for IGA.
- Be a familiar in the PREQUEL GAME!
- At the password section - Giving out noises and animations when we have input the right (or wrong) silly code.
- Be a familiar in the PREQUEL GAME!
- He could manage the end credits as mentioned by me above.
- Be a familiar in the PREQUEL GAME!
- He could be the icon at the vendor / shop, showing what you want to buy, like, a cursor or highlight that row you are about to buy.
- Be a familiar in the PREQUEL GAME!
- Goofball is the Familiar Trainer. Almost like a vendor. You talk to him to level up your familiars, not by strength but with new abilities. The XP system can still just make the actual familiar stronger when in use, but with a currency you can "evolve" the familiar.
- Be a familiar in the ..... PREQUEL GAME...!

I thought about him being a monster NPC (that likes to utter silly jokes, while not being misleading), maybe in Miriam's room or his own. The plush, statue and painting were already cited. Needless to say that Goofball wouldn't want to join as a familiar for "some obscure reasons" even he doesn't know about, but that he'd love to assist her the most he can... as long as he doesn't become a Navi 2.0! |
