This looks interesting. I dig the graphics style and gameplay that I see, but the tiers piss me off.

Why the heck do I have to pay extra for an instruction booklet when it's a digital item? I'm assuming it's not a walkthrough (or else it'd be called a strategy guide). The devs are trying to make this feel like an NES experience, but I recall all my old NES games coming with a booklet.
$25+ says "Access to the beta from day 1 and the forums". I hope that means the beta forums, because if they're putting their actual forums behind a paywall, that's not gonna end well.

I backed the game earlier today.... But now I'm kind of having a tough time making my decision on what tier I want..... I already picked one that's a limited tier... and is full........ But now I'm kinda thinking I'd like a different tier.... But that one is also limited..... so if I switch but later change my mind again, I probably won't be able to switch back.... dang it!

I plan on backing it as well although I most likely will be funding a small amount. Just enough for the game since I already put $125 on Bloodstained and $123 on Yooka-Laylee so funds are low. |

Ok.. well let me put it this way. Currently I'm backing the BE IN THE GAME (BRAVE NPC) tier. That tier is full. I've got what I think is a really good idea for an NPC but I'm not sure if they can/would do it. I mean it's nothing bad but I've got no idea what kind of role they have in mind so there's no guarantee that my idea would be feasible.
That said I'm also looking at the SPEAK WITH THE GODDESS tier as that looks like it could be a lot of fun. I don't have a lot of experience with level design, but as my avatar I hope conveys, I have a knack for taking a singular small kernel of an idea and exploding it into something awesomely detailed. I'm not so good with coming up with the base ideas, but from my past experiences I'm good at fleshing out ideas and adding to them. There are only 3 slots total for that tier, BUT, for right now, they are all open. The two main concerns I have with this is given my inexperience would I potentially be a hindrance, and also scheduling in terms of the "hangouts" and would I be able to attend them around my job schedule.
As far as the NPC while the idea I have might not work, there's an ok chance that if it's because my idea doesn't match the mechanics once they explain what they are looking for that I'll have another good idea come to me. But I really like the idea of being able to help with/make suggestions about level design. Though with that, the scheduling thing could pretty much kill that.
Hence why I'm torn...

IMO, send them a KS message and find out what the scheduling requirements are for the goddess tier, the restrictions on the NPC tier, etc. Then, depending on the response, you know which tier to back. |

WhisperingId Yes I did. After hearing about what each tier was I decided to go with the BE IN THE GAME (BRAVE NPC) tier. My main reason for that was my concern that depending on when they held the live chat(s) to do level design I wouldn't be able to attend. I have a regular first shift 8-4:30 (EDT) job and then on top of that my weekends are almost always full in the morning and evenings. I used to roadie for a local band and a couple of the guys I knew from that group are trying to get another together so I still get called out every now and then. And I have a group of folks at the karaoke bar that I frequent that I only get to see when I go to that bar, because it's an hour away from where I live. Not to mention I still go to a lot of concerts on my own. Between that and helping out with things here at home I'm pretty busy most nights...
