So as I have been looking at the Blood Stained, I was wondering, I know that you get to use a host of weapons, in the game, but what weapon do you think will become Miriam's trademark weapon.
I have to say the sword, id love it to be the whip, as I love the Vampire Killer, but I really think its going to be the sword.
So what to the rest of you think

Sword. When the Kickstarter was live the website swordorwhip.com was made just to determine that. The sword won in a last minute come back.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that the winner of the "Sword or Whip" contest, a special (as-of-yet unnamed) Katana is intended to be the strongest weapon in the game. Perhaps even stronger in base damage than the "Swordwhip" that we'll obtain from the secret boss.

Iga gave us the swordwhip so he already decided. Though on a serious note this is an interesting question. Miriam has been seen with both throughout the art and they are undoubtedly weapon types in the game. Also, as XombieMike already pointed out, swordorwhip.com had a poll of this. That's conclusive for now. Once the game gets released and we see how each weapon looks and controls the favor could possibly shift towards the whip.
Personally I would choose a whip. I love how practical a sword is to use yet feel it's a weapon that's over used in games. The whip is hardly practical and rarely seen in games yet it gives so much satisfaction to hear it crack and strike things.

The Swordwhip was really just a compromise that will be dropped by the secret boss (as per the $1,500,000 stretch goal) The below is what I was talking about (the Katana from the "Sword or Whip" results): Kickstarter Update #20 This Katana is supposedly going to be the most powerful weapon in the game [for Miriam]. I've no doubt that plenty of Whips, other than the Swordwhip, will be quite powerful as well.   |

Well i know theres gonna be a samurai dude as another character, my guess is he'll be a sword user. though i know miriam will get to use swords,whips, guns and heavy melee weapons (probably more stuff too) and i almost forgot she'll also get to use deadly killer shoes of doom.

It's possible that the 2nd or 3rd Playable Character may primarily use a Whip. We still don't know if Zangetsu or Gebel will be playable (the latter possibly outside of Boss Revenge Mode). ^ Well... at least we know that Zangetsu, regardless of whether he's playable, looks like he'll primarily use Katana-type swords and Ofuda magic. And as there on a "Look at us Guys, were nice now" So yeah most likey they will try to do deal with him, really see this like trying to but the rights to BloodStained.
And if I was IGA I'd never sell not for anything, Konami has shown us that they can no longer be trusted.

Interesting, do you mean something Lords-of-Shadow-esque or do you mean something similar to an old skool CV experience? How do you envision things working in first person? Id like a mix of classic and LOS but with some Skyrim thrown in there. so you can do sub quest, like hunting down a monster for the church, and what have you. as for controls I see it as something like Bioshock infinite , as that set up was perfect, fast, responsive. sort like taking that to the next level.

Belmont
Vampire
mage.
And you'd use weapons based on that . the Belmont class could only use whips and sub weapons. and Item crash.
Vampire, like most Metroidvanias just finding and using any weapon you what, no limits.
Mage, magic staff, and spells.
It would be soo cool, I see it more as a spin off then a main entry to the series, as I really think one of the main canon games should 3rd person sort of like bayonetta, or ninja Gaiden to play.
And the look of it ,again a mix of IGA style and LOS.
But that's just what I think. many may see it as a REALY bad idea, both of them.
