Shenmue 3

This is what worries me. Awesome Japan don't deserve such recognition.

My understanding is that there is currently no guarantee that it (a physical copy of the game) will come out in stores outside of the digital Steam and the PSN/SEN store fronts. So if you want a physical version the Kickstarter might be your only bet.

Less than 10 minutes left for Shenmue 3 KS. This is what they're getting, and missing.

so aparrently other game developers are saying this games kickstarter was a big flop?

Yes, reading that, it took a MIRACULOUS set of circumstances for us to reach this day.

1) The burning desire of the fans enduring for 14 years, which in and of itself is miraculous that we never all burned out.

2) Kickstarter becoming a thing that caught Yu's attention

3) Yu determining a budget that was acceptable to other parties

4) Fans happening to petition Sony for the game at the right time

5) Sony approaching Yu at just the right time

6) It being announced at E3 live (unprecedented.)

7) The unrelenting activism of fans fighting back against the mainstream gaming media's bias and misinformation

8) Sony agreeing - VERY GENEROUSLY - to allow physical copies via Kickstarter (essentially giving away money!)

9) Us breaking the record today JUST before dawn broke on the west coast, so all the gaming sites could make it big news

I mean seriously... this is a miracle. A bona fide, literal miracle. At least as far as I'm concerned.

Yes, it's a flop in the sense that they had a poorly managed campaign that didn't capitalize on any of the early momentum, and their late game strategy was to flood very high level tiers with selling more and more parts of the game to backers (in the latter case, that's not a bad thing when used in conjunction with other stuff, but here, they used it in isolation. To me, it came off as 'bleeding' your current backers, vice anything to attract new backers).

Meanwhile, both Red Ash campaigns are a flop in the 'regular' sense -- they're barely attracting backers and are going to struggle to meet their minimum goal.

I backed all of these campaigns at pretty high levels, so I'm making these observations as an interested backer.

I pledged 5$ because I want wait for the survey and isn't certain that I will upgrade my pledge. Call me "Master Race" but as a PC gamer I'm afraid that the presence of $ony behind the project could ruin something.

Now isn't a matter of peasants or master race, but the influence of $ony on this project. We know that the great part of young boys and girls play with consoles, nowadays, loves "cinematographic" games full of QTE (quick time events). Also, our generation think to play difficult games with a deep gameplay and original stories, when the truth is that the difficulty of the new games is very low and the gameplay is worst than most of old games. Same thing for the plots.
I'm afraid that $ony could use his influence, pushing the developers to make a game more easy and simple than Shenmue I and Shenmue II for lower the level of the audience, and we all know that a lower level of audience mean more money but less quality. 

I can't BELIEVE how much money that game raised. I thought only a fistful of people had even heard of it!
