So Playstation Neo and Xbox Scorpio will be coming... Neo this year (according to what I've read) and Xbox, supposedly the end of next year. Are any of you excited? Pissed off? or interested?
I, for one, will be getting the new systems because I will be upgrading to a 4K TV when I can afford it. but any of you out there getting the new systems for other reasons? just interested what people are thinking on this subject.
Oh and this has nothing to do with the NX which is a whole new system... just talking about the "half-upgrades"

I suspected something like this so I neither bought a PS4 or an XB1 I might get a PS Neo for a couple Japanese games I want though its hard to justify given I can get 90% of what I want on PC & Nintendo. XB1 and PS4 have some good games but I couldn't justify it given they are almost all on PC. I suppose the reason I buy Nintendo systems is because they give me a good number of things I can't get on PC.

I upgraded my 3DS to a New 3DS, but mostly out of necessity. My old 3DS wasn't charging anymore, even when plugged in and with the charge light on. In the meantime, I'm waiting on any new console purchases until I am in a better financial situation.

I don't have neither PS4 or XONE, so maybe (maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe) I'll be getting a PS4 Neo for Nier Automata and a couple of japanese games. If a miracle happens and Nier end being released for PC, so nah, no console for me.

Wait and see before upgrading.
If the major benefits only come from 4K support or the requirement of a new television, then wait and see if you have the budget to invest in one, and wait and see if it'll even be worth it.
We have no specs out there to base anything on, and we have no game comparisons to show us "this is what the old PS4 couldn't do".
I've heard that at least one of those systems, probably the Scorpio, supported HDR, high dynamic range, which boasts a wider range of colors making the image look closer to reality. If you invest in a 4K television any time soon, make sure it has HDR support. Make sure it has GOOD HDR support.

Maybe.
I'm gonna have to see what the PS4 Neo is capable of before making a strict decision. Although, I'm eventually going to be "forced" to upgrade since the game developers, as sure as the sun is hot, are not going to treat the "normal" PS4 and PS4 Neo games equally. The favor is obviously going to the PS4 Neo side.
I didn't like Xbox so that solved itself pretty quickly.

i do not believe it worth to upgrade for most people, the new versions are good for people who don't have them yet or of course for whose the money spent won't make a difference.

Too late; I bought the new thing months ago. Besides, I've bought Xenoblade 3D and poured many hours into Hyrule Warriors Legends. I've also been enjoying the faster loading times. Finally, the bigger screen is a boon for drawing and playing Picross. I had been thinking of upgrading for a long time, anyways. I admit it was a hefty chunk of change, but I think it was worth it. |

I got a ps4 less than a year ago so I'm a bit peeved, but I'm hoping the 'new' one isn't really going to be required for anything other than some bonus features I don't care about.
I also find it weird that Microsoft is trying to tout Scorpio as some kinda 4k machine when they can't even get 1080p right on their current machine despite 1080p being out long before the xbone was out, and far more practical than 4k is to boot IMO.
Honestly I don't know why 4k is the new thing when OLED looks SO much better IMO. I want to see the OLED market go mainstream.

I might be interested in the NEO, but I'll wait and see. For the M$ side of things, I have a ultra powered gaming pc, since they're pretty much putting all Xbone stuff on PC, I won't need to get a new console for those games!

If the neo turns out bad I will just get a hopefully reduced price PS4 because at the point the neo is released they should lower the PS4 price.

Not really interested in either, being completely honest. Software-wise, I'm not interested in what either system has to offer (YET) so I don't see the point of upgrading something that I don't care about. 100 * 0 still equals zero.
Having said that, if some exclusives peak my interest and those new systems are around, maybe? But definitely not right now, no.
