He should have worn all 20 buttons at E3 hahaha. That would have been amusing, though could be taken a bit arrogant. It sounds like he's stayed humble, and a cool guy with a great vision that thankfully came to be. I've been meaning to get the game since I first saw it being released on PS4 (it was shown/advertised on one of the main tabs of the store for a while), and now that will happen sooner rather than later.
Great podcast overall and cool insight into development, his game and Bloodstained.

I'm listening to the podcast right now and just hit the 40 minute mark. I'm enjoying it so far. Tom Happ is good guest and I'm enjoying hearing him talk about his game. I feel Mike is spot-on with his comment about everyone's favorite Zelda being the one that came out when they were a teenager. I've noticed a lot of people in my age range (mid-late 20's) have Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, or the Oracle games as their favorite, most people older than me have OoT or LttP as theirs, and the misguided wayward souls who were still in high school when Skyward Sword came out enjoy that one for reasons I honestly can't understand and don't think I want to. Also Mike, neither you or Tom have played Link's Awakening?  |

Ohhh okay, you missed out on nearly 10 years of Zelda games on the original Game Boy, GBC, GBA, N64, and GCN during a time where the world we live in wasn't as overwhelmed with choices for media and entertainment as it is now. Now that I've heard the entire podcast, it kinda sucks to hear about the story content cut from Axiom Verge. Maybe it could be used in future games or included in some sort of tie-in. |

I enjoyed this episode a lot. Super informative - I was certainly interested in what he had to say about himself, game development in general (probably the best parts) and Bloodstained.
I think he mentioned at one point the difficulty in juggling how much text he wanted to use in Axiom Verge (leading him to eventually cut a good chunk out). I feel I can sympathize. As someone who writes a lot, its always a bit of a struggle to find the balance between making sure you are thorough enough to cover all the points you need to be also be terse and efficient enough to convey your point in as few words possible. It's easy to fall on one side or the other if you aren't careful.
