Just spreading some awareness - if by chance, you happen to want to buy Overwatch, want to get it for PS4, and are stationed in eastern europe (yeah I know, a rather specific set of circumstances but it does happen, even if it's unlikely to be the case on these here forums) then... don't. Apparently Blizzard went full retard and east eu PS4 version is limited to polish and russian languages. NO ENGLISH. And their reaction to people asking for english language is pretend not to see.

im betting localization and region locking probably has a LOT to do with it and i hope this practice dies slowly in a jet fuelled fire with 6 mercys keeping it at 1 health just to make it suffer before they pull the plug and piss on the corpse, this practice has butchered and killed too many good games to be allowed to live, and barring absolute 100% law no game should ever be changed by an outside team, they should be brought in to help the developers make sure the language fits the intent and give suggestions on what may appeal better to the region rather than taking the game out of the developers hands and playing surgeon with chainsaws (yes noa, im looking at you)
as for blizzard, im hoping they find a way to patch english back in, cause this is doing nothing but hurting sales and im betting they arent saying anything about it because atm its out of their hands and theres some group over there with a tree up their ass and the power to pull the game entirely

For the record, Blizzard did diddly squat in regards to the issue, other than reopening the original thread on the issue in technical subforum. A thread in general discussion reached the post cap, ignored. The thread in technical subforum churns on, ignored except the posts about closing and then reopening it. They can't quite hang up on people callig customer service so instead they have CS tell them bullshit on how it's Sony's fault (aside from being obviously dumb reply, Sony's customer service also says language is a thing that developer handles, not them). I'd call this a PR disaster but I guess nobody enough about East Europe to raise enough stink.

Supposedly Legend of Titan or whatever, was actually just a project to demonstrate how easy it is to blatantly rip off bigger and more successful games. (Supposedly) it won't be distributed or sold. That's not to say that blatant knock offs don't happen anyways. zredgemzPS4 indeed does not have a region lockout. |
