kikumarukike and Be Trippin it's time to decide who's getting the means to digitally download Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for the Playstaion Network! All you have to do is roll a six sided dice. Whoever gets higher wins! If you tie, re-roll. If you edit or delete your reply you will be disqualified. I can tell by the security logs. Maria Renard as a playable character! I never got to play it myself though. . . Best version is the PSP version. It has all the content of the Japanese version that was taken out of the English version, a better translation, and dual-audio. You can also play as Maria Renard who plays just like her Rondo of Blood counterpart. The PSP version also has a much easier way to keep your Alucard equipments. The Saturn version has two extra zones, and you can play as Maria Renard who has her own exclusive moveset, and they are VERY OP. One of which is a fiery kamehameha, and another which grants you nearly a minute of invincibility. HOWEVER, the Saturn version suffers from longer load times, and slightly less crisp graphics because the pixels are apparently stretched, and there are no English translations. I wouldn't recommend this version, even though it has more content. Wow, great detail Warcu...Arcue...Ciel! I have never played as SotN Maria 8gif |

I even can't remember how many times I beat it through... around 10 maybe? Spoiler BELOW
The best part that I remember is in the inverse castle, when you're in the Anti-Chapel's corridor with the blue sky outside, and the BGM is playing Lost Painting.
It's such a beautiful scene that I almost forget I'm in a demon's castle.
...at least until I meet those annoying imps.
And I LOVE that half-elf(half-genie?)'s song Nocturne.

1997, I was in school and there was some kid trying to sell his ps1 copy of SoTN. I wanted it so bad I saved up lunch money so I could afford it.. And the rest is history. Instantly hooked on IGAvania

I played it for a long time^^
It was pure salvation to see what Iga did to Castlevania;)
The Castlevanias before were damn hard and that was fine but it made no sense replaying them after beating the final boss..
I played the series from the first games on gameboy and nes but they were merely jump&run+whipping enemys on nightmare difficulty..
In my eyes integrating rpg elements and metroidlike exploration was the best choice someone did ever before^^
