Well, I decided during my last con experience this month after attending a con panel about what a GOOD con panel is... Panels where people are actually not boring, and are passionate about what they love---being efficient with PowerPoint, images, music and videos about their fandoms--- I think you can see where this is going. By next March 2017, the Bloodstained BETA will have been released already (which I've got my Steam code ordered), and what a good opportunity to bring in a local group of people to get interested in Bloodstained. The con happens to be during March. I want to run a Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night 101 panel at my local con, and I want to get you guys involved to chip in. I already know how to use the essentials of PowerPoint and such, I just want some input considering I'm a first timer. I'm doing this for the sake of Bloodstained, and to get over my social shyness. Community involvement is what keeps Bloodstained alive, and I want to reflect that as a fan and backer even at a small con such as my own how awesome a community this can be. I've already got ideas that I will show through the Kickstarter pitch, the updates, all the information and the music/shaders/backgrounds and what we know so far about the game...and that Castlevania's Koji Igarashi is back with a new cursed Demon Castle! My issues are trivia, and whether prizes will be things such as donuts or rock candy... Vampire If only I could be blessed with giving away a tshirt that even I do not have to a lucky audience member... Update: Probably not going to do this panel at all. It would take great convincing for me to find the heart to do it again, as much as I love Bloodstained my health is not looking very good and I just don't think I'm able. Not to mention other people are already getting panels out there faster than what I'm able, so it's cancelled pretty much.

I know its a farfetched plan but it would be awesome if there was choclate candles,it would be a perfect giveaway prize treat, and as for prizes I'm sure gift cards work just as well,or grab bags with some art, candy and shirts

I'll help! I might would even go help you host it depending on how things look. I've thought about running a panel before myself, I actually enjoy public speaking even though I'm not that great at talking to people I don't know very well otherwise lol...
I've certainly been involved here and know a lot about the project and IGA's legacy. Hm, maybe we could decorate some door prize donuts or something? lol I would love to come up with ideas for this.
Doing a panel at MAGfest would be great, but I don't know if I would have the uh...cred or experience to get it approved, and not actually being local to there might be an issue. Anyway though yeah, count me in d:

It's going to be in Indiana (the con is the humble Evillecon!) and I'll PM you the precise location and we can post about it later here when it's closer to the date. You'll have a good year to prepare. I wouldn't mind you being a co-host, either. I also have an assistant who doesn't do social media much on board to hand out the prizes so we could do all the talking. Also smaller conventions take mind to interesting ideas, and go less on experience and more on efficiency.

Not sure what help I could be but seeing as I am in Indiana, count me in I guess. You could simply be an attendee OR assist the panel before it starts (once I submit it). My goal is to get community involvement, so you're welcome to help in any way.

Well I spent a few years as a roadie to a local band, so I guess you could count me as part of the setup/tear down crew.

Jim, that sounds good because I for one am not the best with cables and A/V stuff. I can do simple/obvious things, but I don't have experience with projectors, sound/mics and all that. It's pretty common for there to be technical difficulties with those types of things at panels/presentations, so your help would be appreciated I think haha. My vision is also not great, so that doesn't help with figuring things out on the fly. But yeah dimlitcandle , as I said earlier, I wouldn't have a problem getting there...would maybe just need help with airport > hotel and back. Short of a Bloodstained con/event/party, any place where a few of us can get something together to present would be really cool.

There are official con hotels, so that might be someplace you might be interested in? Also I know the local area pretty well, and there are some Krispy Kremes and some yummy restaurants if you are thinking of that! Although, I am thinking you'll want to keep everything as close to downtown as possible. So I'm going off that, you can message me on Facebook and I'll get back to you on the details.

Yeah, I scoped out some things a while back...and turns out MAGfest is at the start of January next year, so there's no overlap with that! Should be a clear March for me so long as I don't go to the March tournament in Georgia...
But yeah, I travel around the country anyway for fighting games, so it's not a big deal. Looks like you guys even have some events there, hopefully they run things besides Blazblue and Persona next time though lol. I don't really play those anymore. They need to get on that Guilty Gear!
Anyway, I'll be thinking about what we can do/talk about/have as prizes. I kind of want to give out a couple of copies of the game, maybe one physical/digital each. We could cram a lot of information into our slides and cover a lot of interesting Bloodstained stuff and tell people if they pay attention, they have a chance to answer a quiz question at the end to win. They could take tickets for that chance and a shot at other door prizes...
Mentioning that in the panel's description and the act of doing it would no doubt hold everyone's attention and build up some hype. I'm thinking we would also make a Facebook event page for it, so anyone near that's a Bloodstained/Castlevania fan would know to come by (we would advertise on the groups for the communities).
Some other ideas: Topics covered by either of us depending on how much we know/are excited for that aspect of Bloodstained Bloodstained/Castlevania trivia (for donuts or whatever else, or they could try to stump -us-) General Q/A (we should know most things, but if we don't, could direct them to Mana, Fangamer, etc) Ask the crowd for feedback on the game and/or what they hope to see from Bloodstained (maybe do this next-to-last, before giving out whatever "big" prize or closing we might have)
Also, we should give it a name that would attract attention of a wider audience rather than some kind of reference only we would get. If something like "Bloodstained: Castlevania Successor Panel" is possible, we should go with that, because it identifies the name of the project but also would carry much farther reach to people that are just casually familiar with Castlevania (which would be like almost everybody at an anime con).
My initial idea was Bloodstained: Panel of the Night, but we could just refer to it as that in the description lol ;p
edit: ohhh, and one more thing, we should try to record this for Youtube so it can be shown to people that couldn't make it.

Where exactly in Indiana would this take place? I ask because I'm in Southwest Ohio right now and in fact my area's about to host their most appropriate small con for something Bloodstained-esque in less than two weeks, A&G Ohio (as in Animation and Gaming). Basically, if you need semi-local help, I might be able to swing by. Not to mention possibly running a similar panel/event at A&G Ohio 10 in April next year. The "big" con, Cincinnati Comic Expo, also has a gaming section, so I might be able to get something going there, but that's in September.

Downtown Evansville, Indiana is where the con will take place. It's called Evillecon. The Gothic Victorian atmosphere of the inner city (you can Google it, I'm having a tough time linking...) is what initially inspired me to want to host a panel. purifyweirdshard is my savior in helping me so much, especially with my shyness, as well. Also, in tagging him, I was thinking of "Castlevania Revamp - A Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Panel" for the official name. A play on words! Also everything sounds AWESOME, purify!! Great thinking. Edit: I intended to record it to Youtube regardless for my pal bcgam3r . Also, as it seems planning is going really fast, which is good---I'll be contacting the con and asking them how to get set up within the next few weeks.

Hmmm, about 4 hours. Basically I'd have to cross almost the entirety of Indiana, equivalent in time to driving through the three Cs of Ohio (Cincinnati to Columbus to Cleveland).
Not impossible, just mildly prohibitive. Still, if it remains a Friday to Sunday event, I could probably swing it next year if extra help is needed for some reason.
I'm probably gonna duck into the A&G Con I mentioned above this weekend and see if it would work for an equivalent next year as well. I'll let you know what I learn.

But you could try to drop in once we get everything submitted, approved, and get an official day for the panel. I'm still in the process of contacting the convention. Should be in the next week when I submit my questions.

I spoke with the guy in charge at A&G Con today. This was a very good thing. He's also involved with the Nexus Gaming Alliance, the group that runs a lot of gaming events and con components in the Midwest and beyond. Anyways, he was QUITE pleased with the idea of bringing any form of the Bloodstained beta to A&G Con next year (and he'd probably be up for lending a hand or at least a voice for getting a group of us in to present it at other events). I'm heading back for a more thorough discussion and to get his card tomorrow, but I'd say we definitely have an in for next year (he said he wouldn't have any problem giving us up to a half-dozen VIP gaming passes to run the beta at length in their gaming areas, so if anyone is interested in coming to Southwest Ohio in a year or so, you might be able to join us). It's possible the Nexus Gaming Alliance may be involved at EvilleCon next year as well, dimlitcandle . If so, you might be able to recruit more assistance there should you need it. If you have any specific details you'd like me to discuss with the gentleman tomorrow, lemme know. The biggest question I have is simply where the venue will be next year, which unfortunately can't be answered yet (they don't have a long-term site arrangement and tend to jump locations every year).
