...Did you guys just pull the entire thing off while I was off? Bah, at least I gave a contribution with the candle idea. You are gonna use that, right? RIGHT!? What if they don't? Orange transparent chainsaw enters the stage!

Has this been fully funded, now? If not, I'm willing to pay the missing share.

Hey Mana XombieMikeMaybe we should have some kind of a greeting card to go with the doughnuts. Just a simple "thank you" message to share our gratitude and appreciation.

Maybe list the forum names of the ones who donated? EDIT: Or we could just say, "Thanks from the Bloodstained Fan Forums!" so that it is from the entire community.

I like this idea... a picture is worth 1000 words when it comes to cards. Can anyone come up with a language transcending image that also includes our names? A single image like that would also go along well with whatever reaction pics Mana takes (if any).

That looks pretty good to me! Though, I would suggest using the full polite form of thank you, followed by an exclamation mark or two.
Ex.: どうもありがとうございます!
This way, we're intentionally being more polite than expected because indeed we all truly appreciate Iga!

Is this gift really all that formal, though? They're donuts.
I think it's fine as is. If anything, make it "arigatou" (u added at end) or put a long vowel mark over that last o.

This way, we're intentionally being more polite than expected because indeed we all truly appreciate Iga! How about we go full formal then? 有難う御座いますThat may work as well (although it's the same as the hira, I'm not sure which context is appropriate for the full-on kanji equivalent... help Mana !), as long as we are consistent with how we see Iga, as our 先生 (sensei) in the art of making awesome Igavania games and not "our homey down the street" At least, that's my view. Ben Judd on live streams calling him Igaさま isn't sarcasm you know! Is this gift really all that formal, though? They're donuts. I think it's fine as is. If anything, make it "arigatou" (u added at end) or put a long vowel mark over that last o. Just feels like something's a bit off if we talk to Iga as a friend... I mean, we hardly know the guy, and we still hardly know him even though we may have seen all of this Ask Iga episodes and other streams and became more familiar with him that way. That still doesn't mean we can easily drop formalities even now, I think. If you know for sure that ありがとう will get the point across sufficiently to Iga of how we adore his work and want to thank him this way for what he has brought to us so far and for what he will bring in the future, then I'll be fine with just using that instead. Or if you know personally that he's the type of person that's fine without the sugar-coating (whoa donut joke ), then that's cool with me too. Maybe Mana can pitch in and give a wonderful suggestion? She works there!NOTE: I am not in any way, shape, or form, claiming to be an expert in Japanese. I'm not only a huge Igavania fan, but also an on-going student of the Japanese language.

Excessive politeness wouldn't at all be unusual in this kind of context and I would prefer to do it that way myself ;p Very formal, very Japanese, very donuts. That image is a great idea too!

Awesome suggestion! I can add a card along with it. I don't know if I can print out the image, but maybe I can buy a thank you card with everyone's name on it (using the left over donation), and then show the image on the screen .
Here are some Japanese tips!
「ありがとうございます」is actually perfectly fine as hiragana both formal and non-formal. There's actually a kanji version of konichiwa and sayonara too! Some people who use the kanji version of arigatogozaimasu (which is perfectly fine and correct) but it's been simplified over the years.
「お仕事頑張ってください」"Keep up the good work" 「お疲れさまです」"Thank you for the hard work"
Edit: Bad grammar

Well since I've received a little over 4000 yen now, Operation Donuts go!
I'm going to try to find an appropriate card after work. Then I'll list the names of all the contributors on the first post so that we can make sure no one is left out when I write it on the card.
