Our friends over at the Castlevania Dungeon have collaborated to make a great Castlevania fan game that I only just found out about made in 2013. Not only does it look and sound awesome, but Robbie Belgrade will be adding his voice talents to the upcoming sequel! Here is some gameplay. This is the official website for The Lecarde Chronicles. Here is a download link. Here is some voice acting for The Lecarde Chronicles 2

Thanks Mike!
I'm Jeffrey, the composer for the game. Mig Perez is the creator, programmer, and artist of the game.
The clip Mike posted here shows some of the voice acting in Castlevania The Lecarde Chronicles 2!
As he said, LC2 features a cameo from Alucard voiced by none other than Robert Belgrade from symphony of the night.
Follow Mig on YouTube for updates! Another extended clip of the game can be found there.

Just thought I would give an update!
Robert Belgrade continues to add more vocals to the game Alucard!
Douglas Rye has joined the cast as the games villain! Rye played Dracula in Castlevania Curse of Darkness and Castlevania Portrait of Ruin! He is an amazing talent and he is perfect as our villain...
Donna Rawlins has also joined the cast! Donna's voice work can be heard in anime as BT in hack//sign and as Emma and Natasha in the anime series Geneshaft.
Development on Lecarde Chronicles 2 is going amazing.
More to come soon!

The last few days have been an embarrassment of riches for videogame genres I enjoy having new content.
Thank you for the hard work on your 4th Devil's Castle tribute game, belmontoya!
Any tech specifications or install sizes you'd be able to share with us or would that feel like spoilers on the unholy tribute you've been crafting?

Any tech specifications or install sizes you'd be able to share with us or would that feel like spoilers on the unholy tribute you've been crafting? Thank you! This will be my second game working with Mig. But we plan to continue working together on another game after this. Mig Perez is the games creator and I am the music composer and in charge of voice acting. I can't share any specs with you at this time, but the game will be out the end of this month! Get ready for a big adventure vampire killers!

Great game so far! Congratulations to belmontoya and Mig for the combined effort and dedication.
Stymied at a couple of the Earldoms manor puzzles however. Who would think the best way to defeat the forces of good was with a strong combination lock? Regardless everything else is spot on with the game feeling like different iterations of the series as more abilities get unlocked.
Also ROPES! Castlevania Adventure flashbacks a plenty with vertical climbing and rope slide mechanics as well.

Is anyone else playing this right now? I am and I think that it's the best Castlevania Fangame ever made! It combines some of the best ideas from Classicvania with the newer Metroidvania approach. It totally nails the atmosphere too - better than a lot of the "real" Castlevanias! I love the music, the graphics mostly look nice, many places are genuinely scary and you never know what to expect with this game. There are some design choices that someone like Iga would probably never had made (looking at you, Death Wall) but somehow I find them intriguing. Stuff like that always keeps you at the edge of your seat - every next unknown room could kill you. Sometimes it can also feel a bit unfair though so I'm not entirely sure how to feel about all of these. The day and night cycles are a nice touch too and bring back Simon's Quest vibes in a positive way. I just think that a day/night passes too quickly. The game is also hard as balls. It's difficult in the beginning and stays consistently hard. I end up dying a lot but I usually feel compelled to try again and I'll get there eventually. You can't circumvent this by grinding either as there is no leveling. That way Mig keeps very tight control over the difficulty of each area. You can only make it easier if you buy / find weapons or potions but even those are expensive, scarce and harshly limited. In the end this means that you'll just have to develop strategies and skills to beat that next boss or tricky plattforming section. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who loves Castlevania and is up for a real challenge.
By the way: Has anyone found the solution to the number riddle in the first mansion? I'd love to know that one, haha.

If I could get the map and menu to work without crashing the game, I'd still be playing it. I moved the file and rebooted as the read me file instructed, but this didn't help.

I am quite impressed with the game, actually. Sure, it has some oddities by it being a largely one-man project - I have seen some balance issues with certain enemies and their attacks, or questionable/bad animations - but these are largely forgiven knowing this was a hobbyist project; no money can ever be made from this, and this was done from the beginning as something fun. My core issues is at times, it has a lack of direction, especially as a Metroidvania. Usually Castlevania games in this formula have clearly memorable spots where your abilities get put to use, and while that is somewhat true here, a good deal of the game has more of a Dark Souls design in that you get items that seem cryptic. There are a few parts in the game where you are expected to do or solve something and the game doesn't make this truly clear, and this includes obtaining items. One place I was stuck in didn't make it clear what I needed until I asked someone, then I got it. I promise many people will fall into this blunder with this specific case. Is anyone else playing this right now? I am and I think that it's the best Castlevania Fangame ever made! It combines some of the best ideas from Classicvania with the newer Metroidvania approach.
