What Chuckles said. Ideally, every weapon would have a different hitbox and attack speed, but if it goes the route of the DS titles, it would be meaninglessly bloated. If it worked akin to SotN or OoE where you could wield two weapons at once and the order in which you used your attacks made a difference in what your attacks would turn out to be, that would be the coolest thing in the world, especially if holding up or down varied your attacks as well. That would kind of be my ideal design document for a Castlevania title, honestly, as well as having Adventure Rebirth-style jumping and no leveling up. That's a discussion for somewhere else though.
If stances have to be shared between weapons, then the shared ones should make sense; you wouldn't weild a claymore like you would a rapier. I'd also like to see the katana be its own thing since it won the Sword or Whip poll.
Than again if we assume we're getting six different weapons types (based off of Sword or Whip) then I don't think it would be very difficult to have each have their own unique attack aniamtions and stances to accompany them.

In the recent Castlevania games pressing up will make the character strike a pose. So I think Miriam's up pose should be her hand resting on her chest. Like these. There's also a post on DeviantArt showing Miriam using Maria's Stance from Sotn that I recommend checking out. link

I liked that when you held the attack button with certain weapons alucard would guard with it and things hitting the weapon would take damage Huh...I didn't know that.

In one of the threads I distinctly remember somebody went into the code of the demo, and found TONS of un-implemented weapons. Lances, guns, Etc. The thread will still be valid, in my opinion. :p

As for the different poses Miriam could have, maybe some like: Gun Pose??? Lance stance? Maybe others for two-handed weapons??

I voted for the second option but I wouldn't mind if there were or not. I would imagine that some weapons do have their own particular poses with equipped.
Rapier- The Quarte, Tiere, orSixte positions in fencing Katana- Carries it in her hand and pulls it out when swung (Like Soma Cruz) Spear- The "guard pose" or perhaps the way that Lancer (FSN) stands Greatsword- Over her shoulder with a hand on her hip (Sassy)
And I'm out if ideas. I don't remember the other weapon types but I remember one of them being a mace. A mace is a mace so I don't really know what else there is to it.

I don't know why it took me so long to realize there were different stances in the demo... the kung-fu shoes and the sword has a different stance when used. I hope they do this at least for weapon types, I would be happy.
