So I don't doubt everyone here is kinda burnt out on hopes of an adaptation of Castlevania in other media. The film apparently (and perhaps appropriately) has been stuck in development hell for years and the animated trilogy Warren Ellis was involved with for Project 51 Productions is presumed dead along with the parent company. However, appropriately enough, something might be rising from the ashes. Take this with a grain of salt, but it appears that Adi Shankar, the guy behind the grimdark-styled Power Rangers short that went viral a while back is apparently working on a "super-violent" anime-style adaptation of Castlevania with the current rights holders, Frederator Studios (yes, the Adventure Time/Bravest Warriors people). And going by his description, it reads a LOT like Warren Ellis's treatment from some time ago. collider.com/castlevania-animated-series-adi-shankar/So yeah...we may be getting Trevor, Sypha, Grant (call him a Dănești, please), and Adrian/Alucard back sometime soon. Cause to end a certain hashtag towards their owning company? ... Nah, probably not.  Anyways, anybody hopeful about this? Disinterested? I'm interested. Adi Shankar was behind Dredd 3D and I saw that in theaters twice, but that's also the only thing I've seen from him that's not a fanfilm. I also liked the Punisher and Venom fanfilms he did. While his Power Rangers fanfilm was an interesting take on the series, it's not a direction I'd like to see the show go in. The animated James Bond in the style of animatics/storyboards and Judge Dredd shorts were pretty good.
He also gets bonus points for saying that Young Justice should've never been cancelled in his interview.

Yeah, I heard about this a little while ago. Like I said elsewhere, given the success of the other Castlevania adaptations (or more specifically, the lack thereof), I'm not hoping for much from this...I'd certainly love to be proved wrong, though XD

Ah whatever anywho YES. I am looking forward to this sort of thing. And the best part it won't be held back from child-friendly requirements. It's gonna be serious and that's how Castlevania games should be taken.

This seems weird. I'm not seeing it mentioned on Frederator's website, I'm not seeing a press release from Konami (from which they would need to acquire the rights) and I'm not seeing it mentioned on a lot of other news sites related to animation where I would expect to hear news about this. Not saying this is fake per say but I need more sources to show that this is actually a thing that is under production.
Interesting that the setting and cast of Castlevania III is what they would choose. I assume they would still use Alucard's post-SOTN design? A lot of question I have of this (if it goes through).

Wow, the comments section on that article is astoundingly negative lol...but what comment section isn't? Anyway...I do need to watch some of this guy's stuff. I've heard of the Power Rangers thing.
BUT YEAH. This could be great, it could end up not existing at all (which unfortunately feels like the most likely scenario). It's really too soon for me to accurately judge, but man do I really like CV3. Some gags I'd like to see:
Wall meat or some reference to it.
Hearts/things coming out of candles.
Someone calling Trevor "Ralph", to which he might reply "What? My name isn't Ralph".
It's actually kind of odd that he referenced GitS and Ninja Scroll, but not Vampire Hunter D. That should really be a big part of the inspiration. I'm looking forward to hearing anything further about this...though yeah, given how the Castlevania movie and the other Dracula's Curse project have been on hold for so long, I'll need some more infromation to know for sure this will be A Thing.
