I found out some moves with Zangetsu that he can use that are not mentioned on the control scheme chart in the beginning. Anyone else found some?
Hold "up": Zangetsu taunts the enemy and goes into his counter stance. unlike the "Forward Forward Square" Input, this one costs NO MP, and you can actually hold up to keep the counter stance up for as long as you want. However, you have to deal with the incredibly long taunting animation, so it is not good for actually countering. not sure if the Taunt has any use yet.
If you use the right analog stick to use the Chain (most people probably forgot about it as soon as the game starts, since spamming "Up + L1" is a much more effective Way to get up and around, even at the cost of the MP) while you have an element active and and are at close to mid range while you hit an enemy, Zangetsu throws an elemental attack towards the enemy.
If you use "Up + L1", as long as the animation plays, you can press "R2" to cancel into a groundpound, similiar to "Down, Down-Forward, Forward + Square" or "Down, Down + Square", which means it will also unleash an elemental attack. This is actually preferable to other inputs, because if you press "R2" immediately after "Up + L1", you wont leave the ground and actually cancel instantly into the attack without any start-up animation. Yes, it costs more MP than the other Inputs (because of the "Up + L1 also consuming MP) but for having an instant elemental Attack ready this is totally worth it!
If you press "Down + Jump" during a couble jump, you will do a downward kick. You can also do that in an angle! That Dive Kick upon contact with an enemy actually recovers quite a bit of MP each time you hit with it!
I hope some people find out more techniques like this =) Also did anyone found out if there is an actual Counter Attack after you guard? It seems Zangetsu stops time (similiar to Miriam after her Katana Counter) but it seems you can only use to follow up with a regular attack, which is kinda useless =/ If anyone finds anything please let me know ;3

Pretty cool, has anyone figured out if he can do that black hole attack he uses when you're Miriam?

Not sure if possible, but I would like to see it if it is possible =)
I have the weird feeling that there is more to Zangetsu then we know.
Some of Miriams Weapons have special moves that are unlisted and can't be mastered. And in the 8Bit Game "Curse of the moon" Zangetsu has a secret Charge Attack after you finish the game and unlock ultimate mode that is never mentioned anywhere in the game. And as we see, the dive kick, the Cancel attack during Up+L1 are also unlisted so I am sure there is more we don't know yet..

If you press down + attack while airborne, he does a kick from upwards to the enemy directly underneath. Not much damage, reminds of Miriam's kick attacks from boots or something...

The right stick grapple acts as an attack. If you have an element quipped and double tap the stick Zangetsu will do an elemental followup when the grapple hits.

gradius I actually listed that in my first post =) Additionally, I found out that when you hit an enemy with the divekick (that you can also do diagonally) you recover quite a lot of MP on each hit! Have to check if the slide does the same! jboogieg Also listed that in my first post =) And I also found out that it seems to only work if you hit the enemy in mid to close range, if you hit it with the end of the chain it won't trigger.

forward back forward attack does his backdash with explosions. down and roll to forward (ryu fireball move) does a stronger version of R2 attack (changes based on element)

I noticed that there's a nice damage scaling on the elemental attacks variations to make up for their relative speed. Rising slash to instant ground pound is significantly weaker than a normal standing elemental attack which is also significantly wesker than the jump attack. Seems to be something like a 70% increase for each step.
Minor detail, but I like how the rising slash cancel doesn't make the normal elemental attack superfluous, as I first thought it would.

Acturally you can press ↑+L1+R2 simultaneously to release that "Downward Slash" (its appearance similar to Wild God's Blade but with different performance) directly without the motion of Empty Blade. This skill consume more MP than Wild God's Blade but with higher total damage (maybe except thunder, and ice surpassed not much) and easier & faster to release.
Since his backstep can cancel many actions, you can use it after Annihilated Mind and immediately link with squat (better press ↘ or ↙ instead of ↓) or attack then this will reduce stiffness of Annihilated Mind but it hardly to succeed.
You can repeat Empty Blade, jump, Empty Blade, jump to economize some MP for keep rising.
Like I mentioned in another post: Zangetsu can block the ice thorn those created by his own Wild God's Blade & Flying Vajra & "Downward Slash". This is probably a glitch but you can use this to restore Zangetsu's MP (faster).
Speaking of MP restoration, Zangetsu's "Divekick" can restore 5MP even if it doesn't hit anything. I'm not sure whether this is a glitch...
About the Charge Attack in CotM, personally I think it is basically equivalent to Wild God's Blade & "Downward Slash".
