IGA at Xbox Gamescom Briefing

A character like this is a perfect way to sneak in a nice little Castlevania easter egg. Make him mention being trained by his master Richter or something like that. Something that skirts the copyright.

I'd honestly like if they'd go in a more gothic direction with the designs. I miss the designs of SOTN. This bare chested thing that lords of shadow did is really bad imo.

I can see the new character being named Kensei, by the way. Not sure why.

Some kind of prosthetic, if I had to guess. My basis comes from observing the area around his right shoulder, how the metallic part sticks so close to his skin, with pretty much no gap.

One of the few hypotheses I have is that it's the arm of a demon, perhaps mechanical, that he had grafted in place of his original right arm. If it was, was it his goal, or was it due to circumstances?

Based on what you said, I would guess circumstances. I don't think anyone would realistically want to graft some sort of demon or monster on their hand. Plus, it'd be a cool boss fight if that ended up being true and the arm got separated from the rest of the character's body.

I think it's part of Microsoft's push to support Windows 10 for gaming and court the PC crowd. "Hey, you know that game you like? How would you like to play it on a PC where it runs better, AND you keep the data from the Xbone version?"

Plus, Sony's been doing the same with Vita PS3/PS4 cross-buy. When in Rome...

Can't confirm this yet—I won't know for sure until I get the dev update—but I believe IGA will be talking a little more about this character in our next Kickstarter post.

Maybe he did it because all the other cool kids were doing it and he regretted the mistake because it makes him feel less human, kinda like how Miriam is trying to stop herself from being all crystalized.

"Hey red sword guy, Shinji and Frances just got prosthetic mechanical arms! They look super cool! I'm about to get one when I get the cash. You should totally do it!"

"I dunno Billy, I kinda like having a flesh-and blood arm. It makes me feel human and I like being able to physically touch things."

"Shinji and Frances also slayed 10 times more demons than normal once they got their mechanical arms!"

"...Sign me up."

"Hey everyone, that red sword guy whose name I don't know is gonna get a mechanical arm!"

About five other demon hunters surround red sword guy with the same enthusiasm as frat boys cheering on one of their brothers chugging a keg. Red sword guy gets on the operating table, takes a deep breath, and then the surgeon in charge of the procedure just cleaves his arm off without warning. Red sword guy lets out a howl that could figuratively shatter buildings as his brethren applaud and cheer.

"Oh, forgot to mention that part of the the thing. Sorry bro."

But red sword guy didn't hear because he's screaming so loud and is in so much pain.

A day later, red sword guy is sitting in his demon hunting dorm room or whatever feeling sad. He looks at his hand, feels empty inside, and sighs.

"...it wasn't worth it. I feel more like a demon than a human. How can I protect humans if I can't even feel whole?"

"With a sick party, BRO!" shouted Billy as he entered the room with a boom box playing loud party music in one hand, a keg in the other, and 10 other people behind him.

Red sword guy's stomach would be filled with cheap beer. But his soul would remain empty.
