I don't see why balancing/fine tuning the game by a few points is getting everyone so butthurt.
I'm happy the dev team is still taking care to make the whole equation work better. They're also fixing the Switch port problems, so let them do their work.

I'll be brutally honest. I've been getting more and more disappointed with this game after launch.
But i'll try to be as in-depth as i can, because i'm a fan of the game and i don't want that to change.
The bug fixes you're doing now, all this time after the launch, should've been a Day One patch, no questions about that. Playing the game on PS4, while not being the worst experience you can get out of this game apparently, is still concerning. It felt like it was going to crash at any time, inconsistent loading times, sections of the game that CLEARLY were not optimized properly and there is missing content that we still have to receive... But the game is a very fun experience that i've wanted for a long time... And for the most part, you've delivered. That is something I can't deny.
But for a game that was marketed on basically making fun of the industry's standard malpractices, you sure are starting to become just like those games, yourself.
Now, what do you think nerfing some weapons in a single player game will do? Nobody asked for this. You're quite literally removing the fun from the game this way.. I was hoping you'd realize this was a bad idea and would back down, but it seems you're very much intent on doing this, among other debatable things...Please don't.
You need to keep your priorities in check for the people who backed the game and have supported you for the longest time and for those who purchased the game later.
If you want to change the game on a gameplay level in a positive manner, make sure EVERYONE can enjoy the game, independently of their platform. Keep the bug fixes, but REVERT the weapon changes: It's not a couple of very good weapons that need change, but all the other stuff. Buff the techniques, weapons, shards and items that go unused instead. and please, get the content that is supposed to be in the game OUT there. I don't understand why the reason why the Switch version, globally known for being ultimately inferior for all the wrong reasons, gets the IGA Back Pack DLC, while still not receiving performance patches that it DESPERATELY needs, after joke that was the initial delay for the switch version, while PS4 and XB users are still waiting. Honestly, getting this game on any console is a mistake, clearly the only version you care about is the PC version.
This is a plea from a backer who's been supporting this project since the very beginning and also a person who's really liked the game. Please don't make these very obvious mistakes.
This is far from the only problem I have with the game, but this isn't the appropriate thread to talk about other stuff.

As to be expected, there's barely any discussion around the effects of the nerfs. It's mostly just people upset that there are nerfs.
So these nerfs barely change anything (except Welcome Company, that's a heavier hit than I expected, would've just reduced the number and called it a day). Technique buffs are welcome as the majority were completely overshadowed by even the most basic shards. Given what we've seen so far, I'm going to assume the technique changes will be equally minor to the majority of the shard and weapon changes.
Boss adjustments are surprising though. I need details before I can really comment on it though. Gremory is a perfectly designed boss as she is right now so I'm not sure why she's being changed though tbh I'm dreading the prospect of redoing the fight for the guide if she was changed in a major way but that's a personal gripe. Orobas and Valefor changes being announced is odd. They're both overall easier bosses with Orobas being a breather in the middle of a challenging boss streak and Valefor is piss easy if you go into the fight poor, so I think they might make the fights harder, but I'm still curious as to what direction the devs will take since while they are easy they aren't 100% brain-dead either.
Capping Valefar's hp makes sense although it is tragic that my super-poison research is going to be much harder to do once the patch drops so I might be keeping an old version on my pc just for that.

I'm thankful for the Valefor cap. Now I won't have to dread wasting minutes on that fight every NG+.
I don't mind the nerfs, they're mostly minor number adjustments. I'm liking all the bug fixes. Welcome Company was too OP so I'm kinda glad I won't have to keep that shard on every playthrough.
Also guns are untouched. Let's keep it that way.

Nerfing Craftwork was a surprise. Were speedrunners doing something crazy with it or was something found out regarding it? Either way... Interesting. Nerfing Welcome Company is a welcome change. It feels like a good move to be a bat or dullahamer head barrier and a supplement to melee weapons. Its numbers before made it more of a replacement to other shards of the same category. It was too easy of a choice to use it.
I'm glad to see the developers are still getting the game closer to their vision. Lastly, patience people. The world doesn't revolve around you. They have a lot going on, a lot of moving parts. Be patient, be supportive, motivate them to meet your expectations. None of this shoving a stick up your ass and blaming them for why it hurts. Please don't make children look more mature than you.

The nerfs are pretty much spot on. While I agree it upsets some people ( nerfing a single player game), they aren't doing this just for the purpose of upsetting the players, but because they believe that by doing it, they are trying to balance a bit the game, so they can make people experiment other shards and strategies. One example on this patch , by buffing techniques, they incentive the players using them instead of using shards all the time. I know that some players don't like techniques because the are either not cost effective to be good enough, or we can mess up the inputs , or even the proximity needed to the enemy. However , I know it sucks to someone having one strategy as staple for the game being nerfed and making the player to adapt and change to new tactics . Or not having the big numbers that were there before. People don't like changes and they go with what is more comfortable to them. I literally used none of the shards they nerfed and I was hitting the final boss for 600+ on my first playthrough. Also guns become the most powerful weapons in the games with the right equipment. There is no reason to nerf anything in a single player game, just let people play the way they want.

Nope, this is definitely the change that seems the most out of left field. My current theory as to why it was nerfed was that it is a free dps booster if you have the finger dexterity for it even if it isn't a very good one.

The sheer annoyance of using it that way is more than enough of a cost already. I would hate to play that way, but if someone else wants to, more power to them.

First of all, I want to say that I appreciate the upcoming Bug Fixes, especially the ones regarding the "Items Stuck in Wall" and the "Shard Memory Leak" bugs.
However, with that said, I am definitely NOT a fan of the decision to Nerf The Shards because this action DOES NOT accomplish a positive result for public relations with your game.
Think about it, "Who is requesting the need for Shard Nerfs in a Single Player Game that is focused on becoming MORE POWERFUL as you progress through it?"; definitely NOT the main supporters of your game, that is for sure.
This decision is illogical, and I do not recommend that you follow-through with it, because where does the Nerfing end? Who gets to say "That is enough Nerfing; the game is balanced now!"?
Just avoid that scenario altogether and do not even apply these Nerfs in the first place; they are unnecessary and are causing more backlash than good rapport.

At the very least, they could just add a shard option in the settings allowing you to switch between the "classic" and "nerfed" option.

Not a fan of the Valefar changes in the update... it was probably the most fun I had in NG+ trying to get his medal when I had over 1,300,000 Gold. Capping him at 9,999 HP is kind of boring and doesn't make him stand out for NG+ overpowered files. But yeah... if he's that much of an inconvenience at the older cap... then cheese him on the ceiling with Aegis plate... if you don't want the challenge. Or spend some money, that's the perfect solution. Otherwise... he's going to be a lot more boring in NG+ even at the max new health... because he'll be trivial for how powerful NG+ save files are going to be. Still don't agree on Rhava Velar nerfs... it's nonsensical for such a late game item that you can probably miss to get a nerf and that is like the Crissaegem. It's like almost a NG+ item. I'm fine with the Bural nerf... especially because of how early you can get it. But not Velar... in fact, just Bural being nerfed would have made Velar even more special and that much more different. Not a fan of nerfs overall tho. Wish what was already established upon release stayed the same, and stays true with how the product was delivered. Just add more on top and make performance & bug fixes, that's all there needs to be done. Allow people to choose to be OP and not to be OP by changing their setup... at the end of the day. It's their choice. That's the best part of having a customizable experience in this kinds of games that are very RPG-driven like Castlevania-Igavania titles of the past, by customizing how you play the game.

Not a big fan of the nerfs, but w/e. I hope some weaker weapons get buffed at some point.
At the very least, they could just add a shard option in the settings allowing you to switch between the "classic" and "nerfed" option. That'd be awesome if they did this.
