I know Iga said it is not his focus when contrasting his style with that of Demons/Dark Souls, and it shouldn't be. But I feel like it has a place in the realm of gothic horror. And he has regularly included Cthulhu (who via a translation screw up in SoTN has been dubbed Malachi). And honestly the fishmen of Castlevania are far more similar to the Deep Ones from Lovecraft's work then the monster in Creature from the Black Lagoon. Would you like to see some Lovecraftian enemies or bosses? Maybe a monster straight out of his work like Cthulhu or Dagon, or something original that fits the same weird cosmic horror mold. I wouldn't mind at all.

I feel these theme of monsters would fit really well with the ever changing Dungeon Mode castles. The castles are something unexplored, meant for no mere mortals to have access to, possibly 100% random to our comprehension, but they hold a special meaning (possibly) to those monsters that inhabit within. I enjoy Lovecraftian creatures best when we have no idea what it is, what it wants, or why it's there, yet we can sense that it is something beyond what we think it is.
When it comes to the lower-cosmic beings, then I think maybe those could be best located in the 2nd castle (if there is one) or somewhere relatively far from the "constructed" part of the castle, such as deep in caverns. Possibly even an advanced-technology area of the castle?

In spite of Salomon's demons being the main source of inspiration, I think that the creatures should not be limited to them, so I hope there will be Lovecraftian enemies as well as monsters inspired by other works.

I guess Cale hasn't seen this post yet. Heh. I think Lovecraftian monsters would fit in perfectly, and Iga said he wasn't limiting the monsters to just the demons of the Lesser Key. I've always been a fan of Brown Jenkin

The game is packed with Lovecraftian themes, bosses, items and enemies! I bought PS4 just for Bloodborne. My brother, father, and myself are huge Fromsoftware fans, from Demon's Souls, to Dark Souls, to Bloodborne. I got Platinum after 2 weeks. My father just bought a PS4 last week so I lent him my copy. I was SO excited to see all the Lovecraft references. It is a great game story wise, but I was hoping for more of a Darksouls play style. Too fast to appreciate all the cosmic horror.

I've studied Arachnology & Entomology all of my life and have drawed a diversity of monsters. Here's a creature that I sketched from my imagination a few weeks ago. Although the lower half of the creature is tarantula-like, it only has six legs and so is more insect ...

That art is really good! And scary, too Aside from Cthulu, a twisted monstrosity in the form of one of the Waite brothers (a New England family which bred with one of the Old Ones) would be very scary

Cale will have good suggestions. Off the top of my head I would recommend The Dreams in the Witch House, Mountains of Madness, and The Shadow over Innsmouth. At theMountains of Madness is probably his best work. Rats in theWall was very influential for me, also if you have heard of a game called Darkest Dungeon it's basically Rats in the Walls with a ton of Lovecraft Mythos thrown in (The company is Red Hook, which I believe is one of his stories too). Read The Dunwich Horror, The Shadow Out of Time, The Outsider, Pickman's Model, The Music of Erich Zann, The Thing on the Doorstep, The Silver Key, The Case of Charles Dexter Ward, Dagon, The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath (Amazing), Herbert West—Reanimator, The Nameless City, The Shunned House,The Statement of Randolph Carter, The Strange High House in the Mist, and The Whisperer in Darkness; just to name the ones off the top of my head. He has a very simple style that mimics Edgar Allan Poe, but his unique vernacular is delightful and is considered one of the fathers of modern Horror. To quote Stephen King"Now that time has given us some perspective on his work, I think it is beyond doubt that H.P. Lovecraft has yet to be surpassed as the Twentieth Century's greatest practitioner of the classic horror tale."

Being a Fan of Arkham and Eldritch Horror and Mansion of Madness it will be very cool to see some lovecraftian monsters and some bosses to appear in the game, just some Ideas I love to see Shoggoths, Dark Young, Goat Spawn (just a basic Enemy), Maybe a shocker Fire Vampire and Star Vampire who knows!
